Thoughts on @major-alenko 's post about Kaidan Alenko...
The way he reacted on Horizon and susbequently on Mars tells me 2 things:
1. Shepard wasn't just a lay for Kaidan. No matter which way you slice it, Kaidan loves with every part of himself. Not his body or his heart. Every bit of himself is poured into Shepard. You can even see it in the way he tried to fight Shepard at the beginning of ME2 when they tell him to GO when the Normandy is going down.
2. Even if Shepard doesn't cheat on Kaidan, the fact that he is willing to follow Shepard and fight beside them - whether or not they resume romantic relations - makes Kaidan a real one. Not a simp, not a bitch. A REAL ONE. He has every right to blow up and throw a fit (which he kinda-sorta does on Horizon). And if Shepard gave him the space for it, I'm sure it would have been worse for both of them. But for Shepard, the reality of losing someone like Kaidan at the beginning of ME3 speaks to the bond the had and will always have, no matter what path Shepard chooses and/ or where life takes them.
