Lol @ the ribs tag. Charlie did take quite a beating is season 5. Did he get hit with something else in the morgue too? I need to rewatch.

what he lacks in rib, he makes up for in face. in s4 he spent half the season in pain from his ribs, and in s5 he straight up walks off a traumatic brain injury. like you know. a normal man.

nope, just the neck rest and he was down for the count. kinda weird that norm let him live but killed my sweet baby Ned. I guess Norm can tell whos in the main cast and whos disposable.

I thought Evelyn Toohey was a bad cook and those scones were the product of poor tutelage and that Jean was going to give them a hard pass.

But I guess that was an accurate depiction of Australian scones?

Yes.  Their scones are not like US scones, from what I gather.  They do look all the world like a biscuit to me.  I need to taste them to be sure.  

Do note that Jean doesn’t actually eat one.

Just for the record, I didn't care for that relationship. I felt so forced. Now, if Charlie and Mattie happened, it would have made a bit more sense. Personality wise they were a better fit.

lol same. In s4 i was like ‘okay, yeah, i could ship this, i like that she makes charlie smile’ but like...in s5 Charlie Cousins and Anna Weir just feel like they’re sitting under a wet blanket in every scene. I didn’t want to admit it, but like...there’s no denying it.

now lemme frickin tell you how much i love charlie/mattie. it’s one of my top three ships. i was convinced at the end of s3 that they were heading for a slow burn relationship, but it was not to be /sigh

I don't think a degree was necessary. Joy was a journalist and she only started because she needed to find a job after her husband or left (I forgot which). I think the focus was more on experience and society wasn't as litigious as it is now so a retraction went a long way if you were wrong. Also, the Courier under Edward was a freaking tabloid so he would have backed her up.

yeah but what experience does rose have tho?? she what? typed memos? . surely there was some sort MEAA even in the 60s?? Rose was never held accountable for anything she did at all, so i highly, highly doubt any sort of retraction was published. Her whole article was literally the sort of shit that gets people fired, because she dead ass accuses someone of murder!!?? Surely even in the 60s people had the good sense to tell their journalists not to be dickheads??

even if he did back her up with his fancy lawyers and wtf ever, all Ray would have to do is say ‘yah but i aint guilty tho’ to a judge within twelve months of the publication and Rosey Posey is out of a job.

Thanks - so do I really it hasn’t gotten worse so that’s going in my favour. And the cats (and a healthy dose of fanfiction!) have been helpful and distracting.
