how to make someones day
today at work i had a little conversation with a random old woman. we didn’t know each other. when she was about to go, she turned to me and said: “stay as genuine as you are. it’s good to see someone who’s so genuine”. so first i was very surprised because honestly: who gives nowadays random people a compliment? right: nobody. but after i realised what she said i started smiling like really smiling and those few words made me so happy! i thanked her but it feels like a simple thank you wasn’t enough for such a simple, but meaningful compliment like that because that woman really made my day. she was so kind and lovely and i wish she knows much her words mean to me because this is one of the nicest things someone ever said to me.
so what i’m about so say is: be as nice as you can. always and everyday. and if you feel like making a comliment - do it! you never know how much someone needs to hear such simple words. you may make someones day and if that isn’t enough: you may also save some lifes.
