Please be respectful
I am only saying this because it seems it needs to be said.
I respect how others ship. I also respect if others aren’t into shipping.
When a creator expresses that the fandom doesn’t use THEIR own design for a ship type and nsfw content. I would respect that.
No they don’t own the characters, but they own their own art style of said characters. To ignore that, is highly disrespectful to the art creator’s request. It is totally okay to make your own design without copying another.
There is plenty of blog that are inspired by another artist content and have made their own looks for those characters, but not copying that persons design.
On another note on this, ship who you want to ship, or don’t, but just be respectful in not tagging it based of that creators design. They may have specific canon ships for their creation. For example Link/Malon and Sun/Sky. The rest are unknown or just don’t have someone as of yet. To “it’s complicated”. Be respectful of other people’s ships as well. You may not like a ship or particular to a ship. You don’t need to rip each other part over someone not sharing the same ship from your own.
It makes for a toxic environment and that the last thing the Creator is wanting to do. The fandom should feel like a safe place for everyone. However the moment someone goes after another, it becomes a place where nobody feels they can enjoy it. Share your ship, but without calling another out as their ship is wrong. Also if someone is not into shipping, respect that. They are as valid as those who do. Not everything is about putting characters in a relationship. Sometimes it’s about the bonding of found family trying to solve what has brought them together and to once again save the world.
I know I may get flax for this. But I am growing tired of people disrespecting a content creator’s request on their work. Along with people being toxic towards each other within the fandom. Though this no new thing among fandoms. It makes it really hard to enjoy a fandom when people are unwilling to read or listen to a request by the artist request of not doing certain things. (That also goes for nsfw content as well. Don’t be quick to assume that a person is implying something which isn’t)
There are plenty of AUs out there that may better fit what someone is into with their own design and not copying another. Along with open to ship style.
Finally, read tags. The tags are there for a reason. To help you as a viewer to know what is or isn’t something. We don’t need to clutter other fandoms that aren’t connect to another. Also read the main content creators archives and about part. It can really help you know what their blog is about and often will explain to those as a viewer know their requests and story.
Thank you.
