You have an interesting take on Dion Aquato that kind of lines up with mine! I feel like Donatella and Augustus were so busy keeping the CIRCUS running (and Nona was so old) that it was kind of up to Dion to keep the FAMILY running. He did the lion's share of child care as young as when Raz was a toddler. He feels so trapped because he feels like the kids (MAINLY Mirtala and Queepie at this point, but also sometimes Raz and Frazie) need him (and they do, they really really do) so he couldn't leave even if he got the chance, because they need their Dion to look out for them. The EARLIEST he feels like he can duck out is when Queepie turns 18, but at that point Dion is going to be 29-30. He just feels so helpless. And if you have a psychic Dion headcanon (which I do) then it just hurts all the more.

Exactly. Even if he isn’t the primary caretaker for his siblings (which I think you’re right about, I think he probably is at least on par with the parents), leaving a sibling that has any reliance on you with a parent that treated you poorly is HARD. It feels cowardly, like you’re sacrificing them to save your own hide. I think that’s part of the reason why he’s mad at Raz too, because he simultaneously has this older brother “he’s doing what he wants and that’s great” view and this more selfish, “coward couldn’t even put up with it for the sake of Mirtala and Queepie” thought, and that’s a tough place to be.

If you're still shift the request thing, humanstuck Kankri defending Karkat from a bully? (Words or fists is up to you!)

“Stop!”

Karkat heard the voice from where he was curled up on the ground and groaned, only curling up tighter to hide his face. Shit, no, don’t stop, I’d rather have my face kicked in than have him defend me–

His brother, Kankri Vantas, stood over him with a look of determined, stern anger on his freckled brown face. His curls bounced with every toss of his head and every shake of his pointed finger towards the people who’d been previously beating the ever-loving shit out of Karkat.

“How dare you!” He was saying. Karkat covered his ears so that his brother’s words couldn’t get through, but it was in vain. Kankri’s words had a habit of permeating even the most solid of hands over the ears. “How dare you attack my younger brother - and what’s worse, kicking him while he’s on the ground? What kind of dirty, underhanded tactics–”

Kankri didn’t get to finish his sentence because one of the younger boys scoffed and pushed him back. Kankri staggered, stunned for a moment, blinking. 

Karkat too froze. No one had ever been brazen enough to push Kankri mid-lecture, they’d always just walked away to avoid having their ear talked off. Karkat was about to stand up and come to his aid when another boy snickered, looking down at Karkat. He felt a swift blow to his ribs and yelped.

“Karkat!” Kankri yelled. His teeth bared and Karkat had never seen Kankri look so livid in his life. His face went a dark red, eyes narrowed and he pulled back a fist - 

The next thing Karkat knew, the boy who’d kicked him was down on the ground with blood spurting from his nose and curses flying from his lips. The other members of his little gang looked too terrified to go after Kankri, who was gingerly helping his younger brother up off the ground. An odd feeling was curling in Karkat’s stomach when he looked up to see his brother, still scowling and snorting like an enraged bull.

“Are you alright?” Kankri asked gently despite his expression, shouldering Karkat’s weight. Karkat nodded dumbly.

“Can you show me how to hit like that?” He asked. He recognized the feeling after a moment as pure and utter awe.

“No.” Kankri said flatly.

The Kankri and Signless doodle is a request for @make-them-laugh​. Please forgive the pupils in the eyes, and thanks for the request! I would also like to point out that this is the first time I’ve actually drawn the Psiioniic anywhere close to my headcanon, and I feel accomplished.
