5 things to do while your skincare is absorbing💦
If serums and spot treatments are a part of your daily skincare routine, you know how important it is to let these steps fully soak into your skin before moving onto moisturiser. By giving these products time to absorb, you’ll not only avoid pilling but you’ll be making the most of your products’ efficiency as well. If you’ve ever wondered what to do while hanging around waiting to proceed with your skincare regime, then keep on reading to find out 5 ways to beat the boredom 👇
1. Get ready for the day ahead
Something I like to do while my serum/spot treatment is absorbing is getting prepared for the day ahead of me. This involves brushing my teeth, getting dressed and setting up my work station for online lectures. By the time all of this is done, I’m ready to proceed to the next step of my skincare routine and I feel like I’ve made the most of my time along the way. Easy!
2. Give your make-up brushes a good old clean
Do you often forget to clean your make-up brushes along the week? You’re not alone, sis! A great way of making sure your brushes are squeaky clean for the week ahead is to wash them during your skincare routine. Not only will you have done your future self a favour, but your present self will feel happy and motivated due to ticking off a productive task on the list. Germs, be gone!
3. Write a to-do list
A way for me to keep track of what needs to be done is by writing a to-do list at the start of the day with any uni work I need to do, things I need to buy and any other bits and bobs that need to be dealt with specifically. It de-stresses me and gives me a hell of a boost when I tick off important tasks. Doing this while in the middle of your skincare will clarify what main things you need to focus on that day, leaving you level-headed and ready to tackle whatever may come.
4. Load up on laundry
Now that working from home is pretty commonplace all around the globe, getting a load of laundry in the washing machine before starting the working day is convenient and achievable. So while your serum is doing its thing, put a load of laundry in the wash or sort out the clothes that have dried already into a basket, or put them away directly if you have enough time in the morning. This way, you have no risk of running out of underwear before it’s too late. Hooray!
5. Answer any texts/emails you’ve been forgetting about
Working, studying, eating, binge-watching... every single day is full of activity and busyness, so it can be easy to forget to answer certain texts and emails you might be getting on a regular basis. Especially when you’re receiving them from multiple people at all hours of the day! In order to avoid accidentally ignoring my nearest and dearest, I often take the time that’s normally spent hanging around in the bathroom to answer any lingering texts and emails, so that I know they’ve been dealt with before cracking on with the rest of my day. It makes me happy knowing I’ve replied to everyone, and I’m sure it makes the person on the other end happy to not be ignored either!
You can do all these tips at night too - if mornings are stressful for you, try dealing with laundry and make-up brush cleaning in the evening instead and write a to-do list for all the tasks you want to complete the next day so that it’s ready for when you wake up. I hope these tips have helped! 💟
