This startup Juicero made a juicer that was $700 at launch but is $400 now. It only works via wifi and only juices these capri-sun looking packets of chopped fruit (which are like $8 each). Juicero the only ones that sell these packages and I’m pretty sure the juicer is designed to recognise that the packages are indeed their own. The juicers have built in barcode scanners and cameras or some shit to read the packets.
Jucerio claimed their juicer was a modern marvel specifically designed to put the perfect pressure on these fruit packets to give you a perfect amount of juice. But then people found out you can just squeeze the fruit packages with your hands and get virtually the same result without spending hundreds of dollars on their stupid juicer.
