MAKERS SPACE - Pixel-64 - stupidkrap
Good morning, Gishers! GISH.com
2017 Item 153: Create a wind-powered device to automate a self-care process.
The workshop had a lamp building contest and this was my entry. We have a four year old mutt named Beckham in our home and the lamp was modeled after him in a post surgery-don’t lick your stitches e-collar.
His head is the light bulb, the e-collar the shade, his ‘leash’ the lamp cord and his tail the on/off switch.
He was a runner up in the contest.
Sculptor Spotlight!
If you’re a sculptor (CG or traditional) and would like your work featured this week, get in touch thru the submit box. Submissions are not solely for sculpture in the traditional sense, I would also like to include any tangible works such as plushies, dolls, woodwork, polymer works ect.
This is part of something i’d like to call ‘Makers Space’ where each week we can celebrate, support and share works of both new and established makers and artists.

Updates
It has been quite some time since I have posted any new content here, mostly a bunch of reblogs of things that have made me smile.
The wife and I have been updating our current home as we listed it last summer and although having people through two and even three times to look at it, did not receive a single offer. The feedback we received was that some areas were too dated for their tastes so we have taken it upon ourselves to address those areas. Now if we can only get the contractors to get off their backsides and get these projects finished!
Last summer we took a trip down to Asheville, NC to attend an open house for The Village in Flat Rock, a tiny home community. We fell in love with the community and area. What I had in my head was a trailer mounted tiny home for us but found them to be much too small for my liking after going through several on the property there. The Village offers nearly a dozen [immobile] tiny homes to pick from and we felt they were better suited to our needs. Many of these are in the 400 sq. ft. size and start in the $90,000 price range.
So what has been keeping me busy? I joined a makers space in the town just to the north of us called the Village Workshop. I found my calling there with helping others with their projects and knocking out many of my own. If you all will oblige me with a little self promotion I would like to share with you all several of the things I made. They will be in a handful of upcoming posts.
Update
I have been absent for quite some time but I have been pleasantly surprised with the growth of followers to my simple blog. Thank you to all the new followers these last few months! I had pledged previously that I would look at each follower to see what interests we share but that has grown totally impossible at this point. I would enjoy hearing from any of you were there something I could help with. Hundreds of hours have been spent researching the tiny house that I hope to build! And on that note, just earlier this evening I sent a message to the local trailer dealer that quoted us initially to revise a few items (particularly length) on his proposal as we are now in a position to pay cash for it!! Hurray! Our neighbor across the street owns property here in town and I sent him a message too earlier seeing if he'd rent some space for us to build on. Fingers crossed that he will accommodate us and not need payment. I for one am tired of being a [large] homeowner and have grown to dislike all the material possessions owned at this point. Truly ridiculous how much we own and do not use. The last fun newsworthy item has been the joining of a makers space in the town one over from ours. I am often closing the place (10 p.m.), being scooted out as they want to go home for the night. My creative juices have not been flowing like this in such a long time.
