Makeup brushes to cuteee..💞
Extremely late I know, but I figured I do a show of my Christmas presents. Where I'm from and due to my family, we celebrate the holidays extremely late. I wanted to wait until I got all my presents to make a post so here is part one of my gifts. ❤
My mom had gotten me all the cosmetic stuff. I had recently started getting into fake nails and make-up for my cosplays/everyday look, and had no idea what I was doing so she got me all that and more to help me set off on the right foot.
My boss had given me a care package with cookie mix, hot chocolate mix, and snacks because she knows I love to bake and eat sweets. She is a sweetheart.
Very small stuff but a gift is a gift, and everyone should appreciate a gift no matter how small. ❤
Negativity surrounding makeup...
People wear makeup for all different reasons, I personally love the creativity side of makeup, I love using bright colours like purples and greens ect.
People wear makeup as way to gain confidence and make themselves happier in their skin which is totally ok. I also wear makeup for this reason I love when I walk past a mirror and I see my highlight looking nice as it makes me feel confident and happy.
The one reason I don't wear makeup for is other people, I don't wear makeup or not wear makeup because I'm hanging out with certain people even if they think it makes me look "fake" and "caked faced". But I think if you wanna cake your face go for it, if you love a nice natural look go for it, a matte look? Go for it who cares what other people think? Everyone ! Well when u say everyone I don't mean that everyone is currently constantly worried about what others think but yes everyone does experience times of insecurity, it's natural we're human it's going to happen. Should we let this determine when we're happy or what we should wear? No absolutely not, what we need to do though is accept that yes it does happen and we are going to feel like this sometimes and embrace it think of things that make you feel better about yourself should it be "heavy" highlight then put some extra on to make yourself happy.
It's so hard to keep your confidence up when everytime you go on social media there's all these posts if these "perfect" girls with their "perfect" hair and their "perfect" makeup. But the reality is is that most of those "perfect" photos are photoshopped or face tuned. That's just the way of social media. The amount of girls and boys who suffer from a mental illness because of the effect that seeing these images on social media has on them.
Another negativity surrounding makeup is gender barriers. Which apparently even in 2019 is still a thing! It's unbelievable the amount of times I've heard people come off with "he's a guy that's disgusting he wears makeup" or "ew why would u do that" I've also even heard people say "what's wrong with you" umm HELLO just so everyone knows everyone you see on TV from the; news presenter; to a big scary biker they all are wearing makeup of some form. I've heard people tell me when I mention this that "they have to wear it" sorry but no they don't. They wear it because it makes them more confident in their body while under all the lights and cameras. "Oh but that's in TV it's different" How? What's the difference between a guy who likes to fill his eyebrows in that goes to school or a mediocre job and a guy in a movie/TV show (no matter how famous) ?
