Day 46: Teal
Today’s Happy thing:
It is offically May! The year is 33% done, and May is the time when things start to become alive again outside. As I look around my yard, there are yellow floofs bursting through the green grass. I know a lot of people find them botersome, but I really enjoy dandelions! I think that are resilent little things that show up any- and everywhere. They signify that spring is coming and that I can start running around barefoot again. It means that I can open the one window in my bedroom and listen to the world fall asleep: one cricket at a time. It also signifies that school is coming to an end for the year and I am so excited to be done with this semester! I am getting super stressed out and I only have a handful of assignments left in all of my classes, but it seems to be dragging on! I will feel a weight off of my shoulders when I don’t have to worry about turning things in by midnight for awhile.
On a more muscial note: I found a super awesome playlist to listen to while doing homework! It is called “Video Games Live Radio” and I find that it helps me concentrate on what I am doing instead of trying to concentrate on the lyrics that I am hearing. I saw somewhere that video game soundtracks are designed to make you focus, and I can attest to that! I have listened to repeats of Zelda, Pokemon, Mario, Shadow of the Colossus, Final Fantasy etc while studying for various tests and finals. I find that it is one of the only things that I can have playing in the background where I don’t get distracted from it. 10/10, highly reccomend!
On an even more different note: I did my makeup for the first time in awhile today and it made me miss just fooling around with makeup with one of my roommates. She has a beautiful collection of the Disney products that she got from Colourpop and we always do our makeup for when we go out for a nice dinner, or a movie, or just a random Saturday out. We would sit at the dinning room table and take turns using my little mirror to apply the shadows and creams. I remember one time that we were going to a softball team bonding and we both did our makeup. One of my teammates asked why we always did our makeup for the little things like this. I responded because I enjoy the process of creating a new look for myself, and my roommate, A, said something similar. I cannot wait to sit around a table, asking each other if both sides look even, and then strutting our stuff in public...even if it is just going to the grocery store on Saturday afternoon! :)

Anyone who can do makeup is an artist. Living art on a three dimensional surface.
I can't do makeup worth shit.
Trying on my new colourpop lippies! I know my skin is a mess rn and I didn't bother w foundation to cover it up but shut up and look at how purple my lips are
That moment when you take off all your makeup and look in the mirror like "Wow, I really had the world fooled today!"
