In a 2015 issue of Famitsu, Megumi Han-san said in an interview, "Nokia used to be a very passive girl who had a hard time breaking into friend circles, and it's because of the people she met in the story that she was able to become so bright." But neither of the two games have touched on this, so...?

(x) (quoting previous tweet) It didn't end up in the game, but in the early (development-side) background for Nokia, she was often bullied as a young child, but, thanks to the influence of her cousin, a delinquent fashionista, she decided to be more in-your-face with her appearance (clothes), and it caused her to gain a more assertive personality. Said cousin became more serious (?) after joining the workforce. Said cousin also happens to be Makiko Date.

(x) I can't stop thinking about Doki Doki Digimon Academy. I keep throwing myself into delusions about this completely irrelevant project to the point it keeps me occupied. From an excitable little rascal Agumon-kun, to the quiet and cool Shakkoumon-senpai ❤︎ (Incidentally, Doki Doki Digimon Academy is supposed to be an otome game.)

(x) Doki Doki Digimon Academy came from me fantasizing about a Hacker's Memory request, where you would go into an otome game under development and find it hijacked by a Digimon, and then you would have to search for the culprit while playing through a visual novel...

(x) Actually, Suedou is the one with the biggest relation to this story, as is his reason for wanting to remove misery from the world. It's because of the sudden death of someone very dear to him. As he despaired over their death, he made use of the memory data conversion that he was researching with Nile Corp at the time, and, with the help of his co-worker, Yamashina, he erased his own memory of his loved one.

(x) But even though he'd erased the memory of said loved one, the sadness and despair would not disappear, and the feeling of loss began to eat at him. And from there, gradually, he became obsessed with the idea that the world was full of sorrow.

I left “Doki Doki” behind (even though I’d usually translate it) because a certain visual novel about a literature club has probably made the meaning clear enough to people reading this.

“Doki Doki Digimon Academy” has a bit of backstory behind it; the official feedback questionnaire for Hacker’s Memory included a question asking players what kinds of Digimon games they’d be interested in playing, including standard choices like World/Story games and what’s suspected to be an early description of Survive, but also some very odd and unexpected choices like an RPG set in the world of the Adventure 02 epilogue, a Digimon anime protagonist crossover SRPG, a visual novel set in the Cyber Sleuth universe, an MMO, and, of all things: "A romance visual novel where you can flirt with Digimon, Doki Doki Digimon Academy". Fans and players were bemused at the choice, and most determined it must have been some social media intern messing around...only for the producer himself to post the above tweets.

Otome game = a dating sim visual novel aimed at a female audience.
