The PurpleButterfly Fund: It's All About Giving Back
HI you guys! I’m doing a little something special for a dear, dear friend of mine (the mermaid with me at left in this photo), and I’d LOVE a little help, if any of you can swing it. ^_^ My dear mersister and bestie (we’ll call her the PurpleButterfly for our purposes today), is always, ALWAYS helping SOMEBODY. She does a MILLION big AND small things on a constant basis to help others, far, faaaaaar beyond the call of duty, and often putting herself and her family out to give to others when they need it. So.. I’d like to do something for her in return. Since she’s constantly helping others make mermaid tails, but can never afford one of the “store-bought” kind herself, I’d like to gather people up to get one FOR her, as a great, big, wonderful surprise!!! She’s wanted one of these “fancy tails” for YEARS, but has never been able to make that dream happen for herself. So.. since she’s constantly sewing and crafting to make other mers’ dreams a reality (for FREE, I might add), I’d like to make one of her dreams come true in return. ^_^
If you need more proof of how amazing she is, here are just a few examples:
She volunteers for her kids’ school,
teaches art to special needs kids on occasion,
has REPEATEDLY offered up her home (for months on end) to people to stay when they were in need,
has offered up her home for others to store things & host garage sales (for OTHERS to raise money),
offers rides & other transport assistance to those who need it whenever she can,
helps her extended family do whatever they need on a regular basis,
and ALL while facing a medley of her own physical and financial challenges. (Her car just got totalled, and she has a variety of chronic illnesses I’m not going to get into here that seriously drain on her physically and financially. Let’s just suffice it to say this woman goes about her day pushing through massive fatigue and pain, and never ONCE complains or lets it get the best of her. NEVER.)
I’m not lying when I say this woman is truly remarkable. She just gives and gives and never stops giving, even when it may be to her detriment (physical, emotional, financial, psychological, etc.), and even where others would have looong turned their backs on others, she never gives up on people. She is endlessly generous, trusting and kind.
