damn anon you’re really making me think here
LOL U RIGHT
Jimmy Two Shoes was pretty high on itunes when it was airing, but it didn't get the views in the usa or canada, (airing one at a time during a movie Teletoon, evil being on at 6 am, and being on disneyxd in the usa and not having ads for every new episode) so it never got another season made, I dunno if the show even on itunes anymore, I think they removed it when they made the hard to get dvd.
So the whole buying it on Itunes, is not going to help.
Reblog this if you think there's nothing wrong with a straight man wearing/enjoying the color pink.
Trying to prove a point to my uncle, who thinks it's wrong for a man to wear pink.
So if you support it, then you aren't an anti-feminist, but you just don't agree with all of the reasons stated online? Do you agree with any of them or do you disregard each one because they are the works of 'tumblr-feminists'? And, what do you think actual feminist sentiments are that should be expressed online? Or do you think it's all outdated?
I don't think supporting abortion (I assume your questions are a continuation of the previous ask about abortions) and being anti-feminist are mutually exclusive. There is actual feminism, and "feminism".
Actual feminism was devised to give women rights only rich, white men had at the time. Rights like voting and owning property. In many countries, women still don't have such rights. And I fully support real feminists, trying to make it right in those places.
"Feminism", however, is entirely different - this is what you see propagated in our (Western) media and in online communities, tumblr being one of the most prominent examples. It suffers from having ran out of real issues to fight against. And like any ideology that has lost its original momentum, it has to scavenge any remnants of the former problems and blow them out of proportion in order to seem relevant. Examples of this are people like Anita Sarkeesian, Chanty Binx, hundreds of radical tumblr feminists, and most people submitting to WNF. No matter what they think, complaining about how unrealistic female characters are in movies and cartoons, how women should be able to grow pit hair without men being disgusted, or how their grandma told them they are going to make a great wife because they cook well, is not feminism. These are not even gender issues. These are not even problems at all. For every Black Widow in latex and for every anime warrior princess with triple Ds there is a completely ridiculous killing muscle machine like Conan or Rambo (feminists don't understand that not everything is supposed to be serious). For every guy who doesn't happen to like hairy women, there is a girl who doesn't like beards, mustaches, or hairy legs on guys (feminists don't understand personal taste and want to tell you what to like). For every girl being told she'll make a great wife, there is a guy being told he'll make a great husband because he's handy with tools and can fix stuff (feminists don't understand some traits are traditionally considered desirable in a partner).
You might notice I don't bash every single WNF post. Granted, some of them I just don't have the strength for, because they reach previously unknown limits of idiocy, but some of them I find reasonable to a certain extent. I don't think they're a reason to call for feminism, but I understand why people might see certain things as problematic. Nevertheless, what I described above is the piss poor excuse for feminism I'm actually against.
Actual feminist sentiments that should be expressed online include: blogging from an under-developed country to inform the world about the status of women's rights there in hopes of getting some help, or being someone from the Western world who is actually there, actively trying to improve the situation.
Yes, that's pretty much it. I don't think anyone from the Western society has any legitimate reason to express "feminist sentiments" online, the sole reason for this being the fact that there is nothing for actual feminism to resolve here. And even if there were, bitching about it on blogs wouldn't really be helping anyone (see: slacktivism).
As far as WNF itself goes, my thoughts about it are summarized in this post.
