I love hana yori dango fanfics and read them religiously but I feel they follow the characterisation of Tsukasa and Makino in the anime and manga(or even in the Korean version)more than the 2005 Japanese version and to be fair their characterisation in the Japanese drama version is very intricate and deeper than the other versions but like I wish I could read a fanfic with that characterisation it's just a wish of mine or maybe I am just using this post as a chance to yap about why I think the version of tsukasa in the Japanese drama is the superior one. All of the versions do somethings differently ESPECIALLY when it comes to their characterisation of tsukasa. The characterisation of the Korean version for example is very different from the rest as the male lead Junpyo here feels less like an emotional stunned immature guy and more of a guy pushing Jandi's buttons to see how much she can take and for his own amusement. The Thailand version lessened the male lead toxicity ALOT to make it palatable for newer viewers but that impacted the flash character negatively and I felt thyme lost the CORE aspects of tsukasa's character. I feel the chinese male lead version is the closest one to og Tsukasa(manga and anime)in terms of characterisation. Both versions are similar in how domineering and dominant they are whether in general or romantically and both og Makino and shancai seem attracted to that.
In the 2005 version while tsukasa was the one pursuing Makino and being all "manly" or "a protector" is a pretty important aspect to his character he is still very soft when it came to makino(or rui)which is what makino in the Japanese drama liked most about him and he would have her take the lead at times. He saw Makino as the only one who can handle his intense personality that he doesn't feel like he needs to be "dominant" all the time with her.(the last scene of hana yori dango 2 is her pulling him into a kiss lol) Tsukasa in the Japanese drama still had the og toxicity that was the core of og Tsukasa(his classism, toxic masculinity and apathy at time) while respecting Makino so much to not force his love on her. If anything in the Japanese version tsukasa unlike all of the other versions minus the Thai one didn't even DARE to lay a hand of Makino whether by sexually assaulting her or hitting her.(she was the one who slapped him TWICE and he just let her😭he truly didn't give a f**k) I think Makino loved tsukasa for a reason shown particularly in the Japanese drama more than any other version which is she could be totally herself with him in a way she couldn't be with anyone else. BTW in both of the times Makino slapped tsukasa he wasn't even in the wrong but she was angry and at her lowest point that she got her anger out on him(if it were anyone else she would bottle up) and tsukasa let her. Tsukasa accepts all of the darkest part about Makino and understand her doubts that even most viewers cannot understand.
I am not just a blind hana yori dango 2005 glazer TRUST. I have my reasons and i can make longass posts about them if anyone is interested.
From time to time getting back to the basics 😁 and working toward what I really like doing with my skill. #hanayoridango #hanadan #花より男子 #꽃보다남자 #makinotsukushi #fanart https://www.instagram.com/mubiu/p/BwCt-ceBAZE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1fs23xu3wo8og
Mamma mia che bei tempi! E’ passato tanto tempo, questi disegni risalgono MINIMO al 2010 :O
Devo assolutamente riprendere a disegnare! :D
*Quotes from the popular Jdrama, Hana Yori Dango s2 (english translation)*
Tsukasa: Makino, have you ever had figs?
Makino: huh?
Tsukasa: Figs. What do they taste like?
Makino: I think they are a bit sweet and a bit sour?
Tsukasa: Figs, if you cut it from the middle, it becomes a heart shape. So people say the sweet and sour taste of figs is the taste of love.
Makino:(laughing) What do you mean??
Tsukasa: This is what a Pakistani I met in NY told me.
Makino:(playfully) Is it true?
Tsukasa: But to me, the taste of love is what you made...the taste of those awful cookies.
*awwwwwww.......*
