This weekend, February 14th is Valentine's day. It is the day to show your love and appreciation. How do you show your feelings to your loved ones? Buy flowers, give hugs, maybe write a card? How about saying it in chocolate?
This clip is behind the scene for the Dove Chocolate promotion. The concept was to say "I love you" with chocolate. As it is explained in the clip, we did an effect with the real chocolate using the recorded voice of phrases like "I love you" and "Be mine". The real dove chocolate was melted and placed on our high power speaker. Then we played the voices through the speaker. You can see the result in the clip! The whole studio was filled with the scent of chocolate by the end of it, it was awesome.
This shooting was a little different from the other projects. Since the behind the scene played huge role in this promotion (like this clip), we had to be flimed as we worked. We were given the small micropohone to wear during the shoot, and needed to explain our process as we proceeded. Also, at the end of the shooting, the photographer Satoshi Kobayashi and Makoto were given an interview that involved some questions that were very hard to answer...like "What is love for you?". It's hard to explain "love" isn't it?
For thoese of you that are a little too shy to say "I love you", maybe you could say it in chocolate this year.
