The Administration congratulates both Mr. Peter Abramsen and Miss Mala Singh on their accomplishment and encourages their continued success as they stay on at Orenda Estates for the time being with Mala coming on-staff as a child caretaker and assistant for Mr. Abramsen.

The most useful aftercare that I receive is being held. Sir is always good at holding me and talking about the scene that we just did. The last time I was given aftercare, I didn’t drop before or during aftercare. It was not a particularly taxing scene and my Sir is always good about checking in with me during. Aftercare is important to me, important to both of us, because it reminds me of my place in Sir’s heart. Even if it is a more strenuous scene or I’m being tortured, I know that after, when I am in his arms and he is telling me how much he loves me and how good I am, that his words are true.
The promises that Sir and I made in our claim documents are more important to me than rules. I’ve always been one who was good at following the rules, always one who wanted to be a good girl and obey the rules. Anyone can have rules though. Orenda has rules that it places on its participants for our own protection, there could be rules to a certain scene, if you were to play scenes with another Dom, but the promises that are made in those claim documents mean more than just a list of things that you have to follow. They are from the heart and it is more about being reflective and keeping yourself in check and in doing those things, in loving your partner completely and showing them that love, because you want to and not necessarily because there will be a punishment if you break a rule. As far as the rules are concerned, the hardest ones for me to keep are the rules regarding my own mental and physical well-being. These are the rules that will most likely receive punishments the most. I don’t see the rules being broken often, especially having a daughter whose well-being I am looking after as well will encourage me to take care of myself. I don’t plan or foresee myself breaking any of my promises because I know how true they ring in my very soul. I believe the same for Sir, but I know that no matter what, I can always talk to him if I feel like promises are being neglected or broken.
I first want to say that I feel completely safe in my claim. I do not believe that Sir would ever hurt me. We recently had an incident where he was angry and his anger scared me, but we talked about it and I know from past experiences that when something is brought to my Sir’s attention, he does his best to never repeat those same mistakes. He has never directly been aggressive or hostile towards me and I do not believe that he would ever coerce me into doing something I didn’t want to do, nor would he make me feel guilty for using a safe word and knowing my limits. That being said, if something was to change and my Sir began to abuse me, I would get help. I’ve had instances in the past where Doms weren’t that nice to me and hurt me, whether physically or mentally, and I didn’t speak up and it really messed me up, so I know the dangers of not speaking up. If we were still at Orenda, I would alert Master Stroud of what was going on and break claim, and if we weren’t, then I would alert the proper authorities.
There was a time when I didn’t feel I could voice concerns. I didn’t want to be a bad submissive and upset my Sir. Being with Peter has shown me that I should never be afraid to voice any concerns with him because otherwise he won’t know what is wrong and how to make it better. If something were to happen that would be a potential opportunity for a break in claim, I would first want us to see if we could work things out, getting couples counseling. If that weren’t the case, I would still go and seek counseling myself. I have a really great support system outside of my Sir and I know that I could go to any of them to talk about things going on in my relationship.
Character(s) Involved: Mala Singh and Papa Singh (NPC’d)
Word Count: 700
Trigger Warning(s): Parental disappointment
Summary: Mala really doesn’t like disappointing her father
“Papa! I met the most amazing boy today!” Mala lay on her bed, phone to her ear. Her father had called to check in on how she was faring at Academy but mainly checking in to see how her progress was going on finding a claim. Never mind the fact that she was only in her first year at Academy, her siblings had all found their claims quickly after entering Academy and had spent their years there growing together before graduating and entering into their claims. These same expectations were there for Mala, the youngest; the last to enter Academy.
“He’s sweet and patient and he is an incredible musician.” Mala found herself gushing, unable to contain her excitement. That excitement drained however, upon hearing the tone of her father’s voice. “And is that what this young man wants to do with his life? Play music? Do you know how many people are out there who think they can just sing a song and get instant fame, Mala? No. This young man doesn’t sound like he is the right fit for you, or our family.” Mala bit back the sadness that threatened to escape and she said a quick goodbye to her father. Of course, he was right, he was always right, but it didn’t make it hurt less.
Fast-forward her Academy years and that conversation had been repeated multiple times, always the same response and reaction. Her father constantly found something at fault with whom Mala chose and soon she had gotten a reputation for being difficult.
“She’s a sweet girl, but her standards…it must be a cultural thing.” The whispers followed her and soon she was graduating without a claim. With a program and a new set of friends on the horizon, Mala had a new hope that maybe this time she would be able to find her person, a person that made both her and her family happy.
“Mama. She is so nice! I think she really cares about me. She is a dancer too, so we have that in common.” Mala was 23 now and had been seeing a Domme for almost a year now as friends and they had just made things official and were working toward a claim when Mala told her parents, before a visitor’s weekend, about the young girl. Her mother’s reaction was less than enthusiastic. “Oh darling, perhaps take a step back…and think…I know we have always encouraged your dancing but two dancers? Who is going to make the money to fund your hobby?” Mala curled up in her bed, closing her eyes as her mother spoke. “Perhaps just think…what Papa and I want for you, we want the best for you, so what does that look like? And go from there. You can do this, I know you can.”
She soon moved to Orenda, made new friends, entered new relationships. She had told her father about Damien, made it known they were just friends but that she liked him, but their meeting for Visitor’s weekend hadn’t gone well, her father had not approved of all of the tattoos, so when Peter and Mala began to get close, Mala debated telling her father.
“So, darling, any new prospects?” Her father asked, sounding doubtful. Her thoughts drifted to Peter, so loving and so patient with her, to Morgan who was the sweetest girl in the whole world. The two of them had found their way into her heart and she couldn’t imagine her life without them. She stared at a picture Morgan had drawn for her of the three of them and wondered if this time her father would approve. She couldn’t imagine how he wouldn’t approve, but she couldn’t bare the heartache if he didn’t. “No, not yet…I’ve made a lot of really great friends, Papa. I am very happy right now.”
The lecture about staying focused was a lot easier to swallow than her Papa’s disappointment in her choices. She would hold onto Peter and Morgan for a little bit longer before sharing them with others. Even if it meant lying to her father, and any other family members who might take it upon themselves to check up on her.
There are few places I feel safe enough to go to when I am upset or afraid or emotional. One of my favorite spots on the island is the library. There is something so calming about being surrounded by the written word in a little nook or cranny where nobody can find you. If I am gone, or even growing up, one of the best places to go to hide is under my covers. I have vivid memories of hiding under my covers as a little girl, hiding from the storms that would pound against my bay window. Even now, as someone who is still frightened by bad storms, there is comfort in the warm cocoon of a comforter. It’s just a blanket, but in that instant, it is more like armor to protect you against the elements.
Now, though, I have the best safe place in the world. In the arms of my Sir. It’s cheesy, I know, but there is no place I would rather be, no place I feel safer than with him holding me. I know that no matter what, he is there for me and will protect me from all of the bad stuff, even the bad stuff in my mind.
