RETO LECTOR 2024 - LIBRO 19

The following post will look longer than it really is. There'll be a quote in Spanish from Malaherba by Manuel Jabois and then the same text in English (translated by me). The novel is about sexual awakening, but it's also about family, class, memory, the nineties, etc. It's tender in a non-sugar coated, candid way.
In one screen we had to climb a ladder to reach the upper floor where more enemies awaited. I started to climb first but Elvis told me to stop in the middle. I don’t know if he told me to do so, or if he just turned around and grabbed the joystick, the thing is I stopped and he started to climb with his fighter. Since both protagonists went through each other, I suppose so we couldn’t fight one another, Elvis made his Jimmy go up and down my Billy Lee, and he said laughing, as if he liked it, “Ah, ah, ah”. Then he started to rub himself against me, I was sitting under him; I kept quiet, my chest burned so much I was breathing raggedly, and I felt everything in my joggers get stiff. He stopped soon, at least it seemed too soon to me. And he turned around and said: — Do you like it? It’s called fucking- he said, or something like that. Elvis used to watch a lot of movies because his dad had a vcr player. —Do it again, c’mon- I asked. I couldn’t stop looking at the door, which was locked. Anyone could tear it down with an iron hammer. Elvis moved himself again. He pressed his body and his butt on top of me, we fitted so well, and he rubbed again at the same time as the players in the videogame. I was so hot it seemed I had a fever; I didn’t know what I was holding back, but I couldn’t hold it back any longer, and I felt as if a weight inside my body had came loose down to the end of my belly, just on top of it. Of all the new things, it was the newest. It was pleasure, but it also hurt down there, at the start of the balls. After a few seconds in which I couldn’t even talk, I pushed Elvis away from me, I was dying of embarrassment, and kept on playing alone while he turned his back to me and started to play with some playmobils. After some minutes had passed, I wanted to do it again, but I also wanted to punch him.
