Mallory despite her otherwise cheery, expressive demeanor harbors a great deal of guilt. The many lives that had been lost around her, she carries their weight deep in her heart. Shes guarded and just distant enough, never letting on her concerns lest she burden another with her immensely heavy duty and heart. Her identity kept hidden to protect her clan so she could clear their name once she got enough recognition.
As far as she is aware she is an Orphan, abandoned with her mother's clan and no notion as to why, she was always too curious for her own good and eager to be helpful, wanting to not burden those who protected her, but always feeling a distance between her family due to the circumstances of her parents. It was information she found that led to the poacher trap that harmed her family, just as -to her- it was her fault when Livia had brutalized those innocent people in the waking sands, her fault Moenbryda had sacrificed herself, her fault we could not locate Minfilia and the other scions, and that Nanamo was -dead-. She carried the world on her shoulders the moment she was declared "Warrior of Light" and she could not shake off the immense burden and guilt that every life affected thereafter carried simply because she "The Hero" was there.
And yet, she couldn't help but feel those walls break around HIM. The one who brought hot chocolate and warmly offered a sanctuary. The one who told her everything would be okay. She couldn't help but believe those words.
All it took was one smile, and words of reassurance. He would never say anything without sincerity or truth. It was going to be okay because he had said it would be when they met. He would remain there with her, as long as he could be. He would see her as she is, not how she wanted others to see her. One day she would show her true face, and utter her true name, and she knew it would not matter to him. Today though, was the day to share her heart.
In every. single. universe. He would be there to catch her before she fell to darkness.
