Still Wakes the Deep : Sirens Rest (Rant + Spoilers).
I wonder if the monster(The Shape) you encounter in SWtD: Sirens Rest is Brodie? Think about it, it could be ANYONE from the crew. However, anyone else from the crew wouldn't make sense (though ig it doesn't matter..). It would add so much depth, in my opinion, if Mhairi was running from the creature that inhabits her father's former self. Because that whole mission, she was finding peace and eternal rest for the victims of the tragedy, but on a more personal level, she was finding that peace for HERSELF. She wants to know what's happened to the crew, more importantly, her father. So, she is searching for the answer/her father; but if The Shape she runs from is Brodie, then in the long run.. She'd end up running from the thing she sought out to find.
Also the vision in the ending–if you choose to go with Brodie–means you die. However, this could also mean The Shape takes her body back down in the depths. Choosing to reunite with Brodie=Dying, but it could also mean The Shape takes you=also reuniting her with Brodie(if Brodie is The Shape).
Part of me thought.. "Well, what if The Shape is Cas?" Due to him being the main character in the last one, but realistically this isn't the case, for about 2 reasons.
1. Cas was likely charred/blown up when he blew up the rig, meaning he'd be dead, and the monster would have no use for him as a host. (Other than feeding off his body, but I mean it can no longer access his mind).
2. Just why? There is no valid reason/excuse other than he was the last main protagonist, which in my eyes, is a VERY weak claim.
Some people theorize that The Shape is possibly Addair, but again.. I feel like that wouldn't be as cool, because of the lack of connection from Mhairi and the crew, yk?
Now, it could be anonymous–like it doesn't matter–but I feel like that is so boring, yk? This adds a small bit of complexity, some ripples in the peace, and a connection of some sorts. I feel like it adds reason and spunk to the connection of these two stories.
Maybe I'm thinking too hard or feeding into this game too much, but to me there is a vision; and I just hope some one else sees my vision.
I would love to hear other theories though!
