YES. I have seen this happen so many times.
Malec/TSC fandom holds Magnus to an impossible standard. Even in canon (both book and show), any time—which is already very rare, Magnus has been a little crass with anyone, like that scene in TDA with Ty or, S2 breakup, everyone acts as if he had done the worst thing.
And it’s the same shippers who believe that Alec is babied a lot/treated badly but by hating Magnus, when he acts a certain way towards Alec, they themselves baby Alec? They contradict their own points?
Also, it’s a very common habit in the fandom to romanticise literally everything. Magnus/Alec are not allowed to take a break/process their traumas if it means it comes in the way of their romantic relationship. They just end up diluting their personalities and render them one-dimensional.
