Alec felt his cheeks warm and he said, “Uh, thanks?” Compliments like that were not usually ones he was used to, so he didn’t know what to do with them. “Am I supposed to compliment you back? I don’t know how this works.” Izzy would know, but she wasn’t around to help him.

Magnus had been pouring over his spellbooks for most of the day. At some point he'd gotten annoyed and uncomfortable with his office chair so he'd taken several books and loved to the couch. But at some point he must have fallen asleep.

He didn't entirely wake when he felt a sudden warmth envelope him. One eye cracking halfway open, he made a sleepy noise, and his hand jerked as if he might grab at the person currently covering him with a blanket. Instead he grabbed the blanket, huffing sleepily, and curled into closer on himself.

"Alexander," he managed to get out, and his opened entirely this time, looking up at Alec. He'd been so caught up in his work he'd nearly forgotten they had plans. "Sorry fell 'sleep." The words where have slurred with sleepiness. "Snuggle?" He managed to curl his lips into something like a smile.

Jace closed his eyes and tilted his neck to the side. Only Simon could get him like this, he thought. So compliant, so willing to let go and just be. The neck kissing was also really hot, so it helped that Simon was trying to take off his clothes. Once the zippers were undone, Jace slipped off his shirt and brought his hands under Simon’s so that he could feel that skin and muscle there. “Si,” he breathed. "Simon, don’t stop. Bite. You can bite me if you want to.”

   Jace looked over at Alec and raised an eyebrow. He nudged him back gently with his leg, teasing him. His face remained neutral, though if anyone was paying attention, they’d see the playfulness in his eyes. He wasn’t really paying attention to the meeting as it was. It didn’t really have anything to do with them, so when the meeting was finally over, he pulled Alec aside and into a quiet corner and said, “Are you trying to drive me mad?”

   “You don’t...,” cough, “have to,” cough, “I can take care of myself.” Cough. Magnus hadn’t been seriously ill in fifty years. Usually magic did the trick in these situations or he’d take a potion if he knew he was coming down with something, but this time it had been unavoidable. “You go to the Institute. I’ll call you if I need you.”

   “Yeah, no. I don’t know.” Alec let out a frustrated noise and sank down on the nearest chair. “What do you want from me? Do you want me to apologize to Clary? Because it’s not happening. She deserved getting yelled at after how she treated Jace.”

   “Yeah, well...so are you!” Alec absolutely hated fighting with Magnus. He wished that they could get along all the time, but that wasn’t how relationships work. “And if you don’t like how I am then I’m just going to leave.” He grabbed up his things and stuffed his shoes on his feet. “Goodbye, Magnus. Don’t call me anytime soon.”
