A quick info(?) to understand dynamics:

Venus, Jupiter and Sun are abundant and giving.

The rest of the planets are receptive in one way or another.

Saturn receives and limits/crystalizes

Mercury receives and manipulates

Ketu receives and absorbs completely

Rahu receives and projects outwardly

Moon receives gives back the smoothed mixture of what it recieved

Mars receives and builds/protects.

Out of these, Mars and Rahu look active, but they are not energetically abundant. Mars can sometimes be tho, depending on how much of the energy is left in them, but it's still not giving, it's protective.

The three giving plantes do not give in the same way either.

Venus only gives to whom and what it considers worthy but then, when it chooses, it gives its all.

Jupiter gives to everyone and everything, especially to those who it thinks need it most.

The Sun does not give out of love or dependency per se, but it's natural for it to spread its influence, like the Sun can't help but shine its rays on everyone and everything, without encouraging exchnage(like with Venus) or dependancy(Jupiter).

mars is in the stronger position here but either way this is a fairly destructive square. my advice is be proactive about any needed repairs, literally or metaphorically, and don't go picking fights. if you can safely turn the other cheek (for now) i would do so - but do make safety the priority. self defense is sometimes called for!

Sect

I’ve discussed some of the implications of the concept of Sect here before, specifically the idea of the Sect Light and what that might mean in terms of identifying with your chart. Today I’m going to go a bit deeper into the concept and provide you with a workable foundation to continue experimenting with this concept in your practice.

It’s not just the Sun and Moon that wax and wane in power dependent on whether it is day or night, but also the benefics and malefics as well. These are organized in to “teams” if you will, and in a chart that matches their sect these planets do much better. That is to say, in a chart that matches its sect a benefic will be more powerful and thus better able to manifest its blessings for a native. In a chart that matches its sect a malefic will be less likely to manifest the negative extremes of its capabilities, and in some cases you might see “positive” benefit from them. Should the chart not match its sect, a planet would be less able to bear beneficial fruit. A benefic is less capable of providing positive outcome, and a malefic is more capable of providing negative outcome.

REMEMBER, this concept is the VERY BASIC starting point of determining planetary power and what a given planet may manifest in a lifetime, so hold the dramatics until you master all the techniques that deal with this. There are many other things at play that would modify how these might play out, so it’s not a guarantee that your life is shit should you have a planet out of sect. (It should be clear that it is impossible to have all the planets in sect, and life is not all sunshine and daisies.)

Note: Mercury can change its sect alignment based on a variety of factors including which planets it is entangled with. This is fitting for its trickster god motif.

Malefic Planets

Saturn: She makes us lose our balance, she makes us think, she forces us to understand even when we fight back. Saturn suffocates us, makes us feel constricted and she might bring about an internal chaos if not resolved. Through her punishments we eventually learn to dispose of what is not needed, that is if she decides not take it away first. When lessons are learned, we can become transformed and blessed with hidden gifts. The agony we may feel now (especially for those going through a Saturn Return) will truly test and better us. Spiritually we will feel stronger and although we might be physically weaker, her gifts will  be the tools we need to continue on our journey.

Mars: She enjoys severing unwanted ties. It can be painful at first, but we learn to become more independent, to remove those people that cause us harm, those habits that make us obsessed. Mars is not as cruel as Saturn, she is somewhat understanding. The battles are brought up at random points and we are forced to choose to pave our destinies. Should we continue in the same path with those we love? Are they hurting us? Is it worth it? Am I better off alone? Mars shapes our inner soldier, she drives us, motivates us and although it might seem agonizing at first, we learn that we have the fortitude to craft a happier destiny.

this transit is quite heavy, serious, and with some powerful "malefic" influence. but it's very good for change, growth, and revolt where needed which i hope plays out positively on a large scale. on a personal level just plan out your villain era, you don't need to enact it yet.
