Trust Peko Pekoyama? Ha. I trusted a Peko Pekoyama once. She told me that Saionji was caught in a buffalo stampede, and we ran through the Pridelands as the gazelles watched in bewilderment.  We came to the edge of a cliff, and that was when I saw her-- Saionji screaming as her twin pigtails were caught on a tree branch, with hundreds of buffaloes stampeding below her. The branch threatened to break, and Peko screamed at me to go. I had to go and do the thing.

I cried as I weaved around the buffaloes, and one of them knocked me down, stepping on my legs. It sucked, but I persevered and grabbed my child in my mouth, dragging her through the buffaloes until I found a safe perch for her to climb onto.

I had to save myself. I climbed the rocks, all the way up to Peko with heavy breaths.  I weakly cried out, "Peko...Peko Pekoyama. Brother. Help me."

She grasped onto my hands, nails digging into them, as she whispered

"long live the kuzuryuu"

and then I died.
