malina week day one — poetry

the sun warm brush, encompassing embrace sphere of energy, burning, powerful a star, brighter than them all

the boy did not understand the day they took her away, marking her, claiming her everything had changed

the girl orphan, grisha myth, folklore, sun summoner everything to him

the boy did not understand when they said her power was gone, why they ever called her sun summoner for when the sun looks in the mirror it sees pale hair, dark, determined eyes

the clouds move in, thunder rumbles the boy stands in the woods feeling lost, hopeless, empty

and then warm brush, a burst of light in the gloom the boy turns, the girl smiles and he is blinded by the light of the sun
