"A Father That Was The Son" reflects upon the dynamics of father and son relationships and their intricate complexities. Some of us have great relationships with our fathers while for others, it's a bit more tumultuous. Regardless, there are always lessons for us to learn, good and bad, as the son grows to become a man and perhaps a father himself.
A father is often the sun for a son and I happened to lose mine early in life which left me in a place of darkness for many many years. There is a very big part of him still inside of me and for too long, I carried the weight of his shadow, most of those years not even aware I was doing so. The sun can cast a mighty shadow and I am still learning to step out of his. I'm not sure if I will ever become a father myself or what the universe has in store for me...but if I do, I would like to think that I would be a good one and a man that would make my father proud.
