hey i was just wondering, what was the initial reason you brought mallory into your fics? was she meant to be a character foil to max? was she always intended to be kinda cray cray in every universe? i think i can speak for all of us when i say mavid would have a much simpler life without her around. i was curious to why / how mallory exists?

Mallory came into existence after I watched Arcane and was very fascinated by the character of Jinx.

Mallory did not come into life for Max (or for Mavid). She was created along with the rest of her family (the Devlins) as sort of a darker version of the Lightwood-Bane family. I created all four of them together (in the lbaf universe).

But Mallory stuck around even after lbaf and snuck her way into other fics because she is powerful like that. She gets into your head 😬

She is unfortunately tied to Max and David in every universe, because as i once shared, in every universe Lance loses his sight because of her (either directly or indirectly). But in the grand scheme of things, I can promise you, that she is nothing but a footnote in Max and David's story :)
