HAHAHAHA yes, that’s basically exactly it. This is why it takes Junna way too fucking long to call out all their names when she’s asking for them. Thank god Japanese people don’t have middle names or shit would just start getting ridiculous. But they definitely all have strange kanji that make people like squint when they look at it and awkwardly ask how its meant to be said because they can’t believe that someone is named something like that in this modern day and age. 

I mean make no mistake, they’re all probably very distinguished names that they’ll appreciate when they’re older, but a 13 year old don’t appreciate that shit in the least.

So my mom just came to me and told me this whole long ass story of a cop who was married (to another cop) and had an affair with four separate other men (all of whom were also cops working at the same station) at the same time, hid her marriage to the husband from the other guys, the affairs and multiple pregnancies from all of them, and the husband 💀 guy #4 and now she and the husband are in Prison about it.

i love my mom to bits, she’s the best person i know, and despite her penchant for naturopathy and homeopathic medicine, she’s very pragmatic about scientific and medical consensus and also nearly as leftist as i am, but sometimes i want to shake her by the shoulders and be like hello!!! you know better!! what are you doing!!!

all this to say that she’s currently on a cruise with her best friend despite knowing that cruises are disease factories at the best of times and also that covid is extremely still a thing (she’s good about masking and only goes out when necessary still so i was shocked when she said she’d booked it) and now, inevitably, her best friend has covid and they’re both quarantined in their rooms on the ship and i’m just like ????? 🤦🏻😤🫥
