So I have my I Am Not Made For This fic where Spencer is forced to play american football but I did give him glasses and I was just like "wait... can you even play football if you have glasses...?" Like are there safety rules about this???
☝️🤓 So for someone with glasses to play american football, they would need to either wear contact lenses or special prescription goggles in place of their glasses. They are specially designed goggles with durable, shatter-proof polycarbonate lenses and helmet-compatible straps that fit securely beneath the football helmet and are certified to absorb high-velocity impacts.
Basically, these are safe to get tackled in and won't break like regular glasses that could crack and severely injure his pretty brown eyes.
A con of goggles is that they fog up in really bad weather and make it hard to see, so he might be better off with contacts while playing football. Also, they can be up to $200 where contacts can be $100 for the initial pair and then another $200 to $400 for a 6-month supply of daily or monthly soft lenses, so there's that to think about.

I think it should be more acceptable to bring up your sex life in medical environments without feeling like you’re going to be judged or like you’re stepping out of line. we should be allowed to bring up sex-related goals during physiotherapy. we should be allowed to mention sex in chronic fatigue activity reports. we should be able to mention this stuff because it’s important and it matters. to a lot of people
I don’t understand why it’s unacceptable for me to say “hey look my main goal for these muscle strengthening exercises is to be able to hold my favourite sex position for longer”. like that’s crucial information for a medical professional to know. killing and maiming

this is also super applicable to your therapist and psychiatrist as well.
one of the markers of disability that medical practitioners pay attention to, is how symptoms affect your relationships. sex is an aspect of a relationship that might be affected by disability. saying that your relationship with your partner is affected by not being able to have sex in a way that you enjoy, is a perfectly reasonable thing to share with your care provider. Not only because it helps them gauge the level of disability, but because it will help you set specific treatment goals with your provider. 
And I’m not as well versed with physical therapy (hopefully I will be soon!) so I don’t know what level of education PTs might have about this, but sexual mobility aids do exist! For example sex chairs made with heavy load baring elastic bands can be used to ease strain and weight when riding, and might be something worthwhile to bring up with a professional!
Hey, fellow Rabbots! If you're gonna write a fic where they foster the baby and you want it to be realistic (which I would hope you do just because the show is the most realistic and accurate medical drama yet according to most medical professionals),
Pittsburgh requires foster parents to pass background checks, and have a safe, stable home with sufficient space
A home inspection (in the foster world, it's called a home study) is required to ensure these things (This will involve questions about their past, their mental health, and how they would handle discipline and the baby's mental health once she's older)
Case workers are required to conduct at-home visits once a month (this will involve checking baby's body for bruises)
At least one parent needs to be at these at-home visits so they will need to coordinate with their case worker around their work schedules
No one in that house will ever get more than ~2 consecutive hours of sleep and will be fucking exhausted
The foster parent stipend in Pittsburgh specifically is about $400-$900 a month depending on the child(ren)'s age and care needs
Physical paperwork can and will get lost, so it would be in everyone's best interest to have any and all paperwork scanned into both Robby and Jack's phones just as a precaution and sent to the case worker through email and/or texts
Respite care is something foster parents can use when they need a break from the baby and another approved family or babysitter can take care of the baby for as short as two hours to as long as 14 days
The respite care babysitter(s) will also be required to pass background checks for obvious reasons
Agencies will provide "training" (telling you the kids are traumatized and will have behaviors and you just need to "put your trauma goggles on" to deal with it), support services (that they will probably take a month or four to actually follow through with because agencies are half filled with workers who are overworked and burnt out), and specialized care for the child(ren) (will probably also take a month or four)
Case worker turnover (typically high) causes miscommunication, confusion, and frustration frequently
Foster Love Project is a non-profit that clothing, toiletries, and support for families
Foster children under age 5 in Pittsburgh automatically qualify for WIC (Women, Infant, Children) program regardless of the foster parents' income
Some more complex cases (like a six week old baby abandoned in a hospital) are assigned a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), they are volunteers who watch closely over the child and advocate for what's best for the baby
CASA are unpaid volunteers and unlike case workers who can have up to 10-30 cases simultaneously, CASAs only have one child/set of siblings on their workload at a time
Case workers work with the whole family while CASA focus on the child and stay on the child's case until they are officially adopted and the case is closed

I need my beloved Rabbot artists to recognise that Jack probably isn’t wearing his prosthetic in domestic situations at home all the time. Apparently people with prosthetics don’t wear them much accept to go out (this could be wrong please educate me) so they use other ways of mobility.
I saw someone with the same opinion on tik tok and agree, I doubt constantly wearing a prosthetic around home wouldn’t be comfortable.
Anyway just give me domestic Rabbot I love them..
☝️🤓 An amputee should absolutely not be wearing their prosthetic all day without taking breaks because the stump can swell up really bad and sweat and that can cause pain, irritation, redness, blisters, and broken skin. Prosthetics should be removed to check for any irritation, blisters, or pressure sores multiple times a day (at least 2 or 3 times a day and if there's any redness after about 10-15 minutes, something is wrong). They should never wear it to sleep. Liners should be removed and cleaned with soap and water daily to remove accumulated perspiration.
