Kiss on Forehead [From Elijah]
Kiss on the forehead: Parental/Familial love
"But of course,” Uriel said, his voice quiet as it always was. He hesitated, kissing the other on the forehead in return. Another moment of hesitation, and he quickly kissed the back of the other’s hand and fingertips.
Continuation of “Local Jazzercise King suddenly stabs the feelings”
Raphael was equally as glad to see his father figure once again, giving Elijah a gigantic grin as he hugged the elder angel.
“Eli, you’re back!” he squeaked, lightly hopping up and down. “I thought you would be gone forever! So much has happened!” Before Elijah had a chance to respond, Raphael began to rattle off a list.
“Aza’s gone somewhere.. But I might get a brother! That I can live with! And take care of! And I’ve gotten a cooler name! Oh, and, and, I help Powers do stuff! We.... Oh! Sorry! Is this too much?”
Elijah had not expected such an outpouring of information, that much was certain. After staring at Raphael for a few moments in silence, he scooped up Raphael again. “Oh, Lababy, you’ve grown so much!” Elijah cried, looking like he would burst into tears from joy.
Raphael began to protest the nickname, when Elijah cut in with another question. “Where is your Bro’s egg? He can’t be left in the cold! And they don’t call me the Egg Angel for nothing!”
“He’s no egg! He’s almost as old as I am!” Raphael matter-of-factually announced, pulling himself from Elijah’s suffocating hug. “His name is Uriel! He;s a little creepy, but he’s already my best friend!” He paused suddenly, looking over at the Archangel Michael. “Can I go get him?” Raphael now asked, staring up at Michael with his best puppy-dog eyes.
Michael gave the child a soft smile, nodding his approval. “Be careful, and quick,” was his only comment, to which Raphael grinned again and gave him a little salute before running and jumping off the nearby end of the cloud. Elijah gave out some sort of yell as as Raphael disappeared, before Raphael flew back into view. “It’s okay, Eli! I can fly go- well enough!” Without another comment, Raphael zipped off.
Raphael returned twenty minutes later, flying over a smaller, blue angel and holding their shoulders. Upon landing, the blue angel looked up at Elijah with a bored expression. He said nothing until Raphael bumped him, prompting him to utter “Hello,” in a tone that matched his expression.
Elijah picked up and hugged the blue angel, still smiling. “Hello, child, how long have you been here? I’m Elijah, your dad now!” There was a moment of silence, before the young blue muttered “My other dad is dead. Are you dead too?”
Elijah sputtered, almost dropping the angel. “I am not dead, no! I won’t be for a very long time! Just like jazzercising!” He suddenly struck a pose, making Raphael burst out laughing. Michael rolled his eyes, not having anything to add other than a quietly said “Why don’t you introduce yourselves?”
“Right!” Raphael agreed loudly, giving Michael a thumbs-up and a larger smile than before. “My name is Raphael now, Eli! Not Labbiel! Raph! A! El!” He shook a fist in time to the syllables for emphasis, before pointing at the blue angel and adding “And he’s Uriel!”
“I’m gonna miss calling you Lababy, but you’re still my little dude.” Elijah ruffled Raphael’s hair, before looking at Uriel. “As for the little dude, I’m gonna need some time thinking of a nickname.” He put Uriel down, and put his hands on his hips. “I can’t believe so much has happened in such a few weeks!”
Raphael’s smile faultered, and he blinked in confusion. “Weeks? Weeks?? Eli, it’s been longer than that!” Before Raphael could move, Michael gave the wobbling Elijah support, prompting Uriel to quip “I told you he didn’t know.”
