I hope you're all doin' okay.
I know I shouldn't worry, but I do anyway.

"Uhm, hey Texas, yew wanna jus sorta hang out er sumin? M'brothers er already out hangin wit' their friends so i've jus been walkin 'round not doin anythin" Junior placed his hands in his pockets and blew a little air at the flap of hair that hung in his face
"Sure man. Hey, it’s still Mayhem Night, wanna go get some candy?"
I hope Chad comes over sometime. I mean, I know I've been told I should still visit and keep pushing, but I'd like for him to visit me too.
No. Enough hiding.
I've gotta meet Junior face to face.
One day.
Maybe...
Oh, boy. God dammit. The kid's counting on me now, ain't he. And I've gotta go in tomorrow to make up for the money I gave to his ma. And he expects me to show up. Jesus fuck. I'll lose a chance to make money if I don't go to work, but I'll blow it with him if I don't show up. Fuck, why'd he have to recognize me? Really hope his brother's not in tomorrow...

"I…I know I d-did…shuddup"
Junior hicupped and sniffled loudly, spitting out a little bit of soapy water that got into his mouth.
He didn’t want to admit, at least not now, that he felt a thousand times better while Texas ran his hands through his hair and rubbed at his scalp
"Mmnm"
Once he's sure there's no more stickiness left in Junior's hair, he combs his fingers through it while rinsing out all the suds, careful to get behind Junior's ears so that no soap is left behind. The excess lather runs easily off Junior's bowed head and Texas wrings out his hair when all the soap is gone.
"See? That wasn't so bad." A dry towel is draped over Junior's bare shoulders. "Okay, there's gonna be a huge thing in your face but it's just my hand so don't freak out," Texas warns before carefully sliding a hand beneath his face and gently wiping it with the towel.
After that, he throws the towel over Junior's head to dry his hair, palms massaging into his scalp.
Guess who decided to show up at Junior's doorstep with his face covered in bruises and still a little bloody.
That's right, this guyyyyy.
Juniorrrrrr
Texas loooovvvves Junior.
Sort of.
As a pal. He really does have a thing about loving his friends when they start getting close. He likes that they can bicker and namecall without it being personal.
He didn’t use to feel that way, though. Junior used to piss him off a lot when the Mama’s Boys would hold their rodeos and make fun of him when he showed up and failed all the time. Lately, the Juniors he’s met have softened him up. (Plus it’s my personal headcanon with Cal’s Junior that they were bros as kids so Tex could never REALLY hate him. So he’s happy to be getting his old friend back these days.)
He feels kind of bad that Junior’s crush on him is one-sided but he doesn’t know what to do about it except try not to mention it or make things worse. He’d never purposely hurt Junior that way. Tex obviously isn’t the brightest of guys so there will always be things about Junior that don’t make sense to him, like when Junior yells at him out of nowhere. But it’s not something he isn’t used to.
As an added bonus, he’s happy at least one of the Juniors can admit that they’re friends!
