11 Questions- @helmsdeep Style.
1) What is your favorite adult beverage? It’s a cross between Rev. Nat’s Hopricot cider or Groundbreaker’s Dark Ale for things you can get in bottles, or a margarita for the mixed drink category.
2) List 3 5 Tumblrererers that you would love to meet IRL. And if you were to plan where to meet, where would you take them to eat? (3 was too hard. 5 is still pretty hard.) > wayfaringmd, who’s been a constant inspiration and example to me for the last 5 years. I would take her to Screen Door because we don’t have a waffle house here. > runningwithguts, who consistently inspires me to better health and dessert/travel envy. I’d take her to Veritable Quandary which I’ve actually never been to, but seems like it’d be up our alley. > havekidslaughmore, who inspires me to be a better mother with a better attitude on the regular, and also makes me laugh on a regular basis. We’d have to hit up Hopworks because there’s no way Roland and Kelsey together would sit down long enough to eat anywhere else. Rambunctious 3 year olds require breweries with play areas. > helms-deep/@hobbitdoor, who are excellent and close enough to actually visit. I’d love to see AFK, which is a restaurant on Jer and I’s bucket list > mamaswears who I was supposed to meet up with last thanksgiving break and totally stood up during the family wedding/ early pregnancy/ school assignment fog that I was living in. We’d have to meet at the reef, because apparently it’s not burned down anymore.
3) What are your thoughts on cosplay? Have you ever wanted to? If so, what character would you want to cosplay as? I have aided and abetted cosplay several times, but haven’t done it myself. Pretty sure I’d make an excellent Agent Carter (my halloween plan for this year). Also always wanted to dress up as Katara.
4) List a few songs that are your go-to when you’re feeling especially sad. Stupid Girl- Cold has been a go-to since high school for serious sads. Also Hang on, Little Tomato (pink martini); shut your eyes (snow patrol); and send the pain below (chevelle)
5) What artist (writer, painter, musician, filmmaker, etc.) do you admire the most? Hard to narrow down. For the sake of brevity, I’m going to go with Botticelli. Seeing Venus at the Uffizi was life changing.
6) What’s your favorite type of cookie? Snickerdoodles!
7) Why is Facebook so horrible? It’s obligation based social media.
8) Best live music event you’ve ever been to? I’m not a huge live music person. I’d have to say seeing Motion City Soundtrack, because they were Jer’s favorite band at the time and his excitement was awesome.
9) Name a TV show or film that everyone else seems to love, but you just don’t get the hype. I’m not really in to supernatural. I’ve tried twice. (sorry MD-A!)
10) Have you ever said something and then immediately regretted it? If you were able to go back and change what you said, would you, and if so, how do you think it would change the relationship you now have with that person?Everyone’s said something and immediately regretted it a ton of times. The one I think about the most/most horrible was immediately post honey on the floor incident this last week when I was frothing at the mouth and should have taken a time out. I yelled “what the hell is wrong with you?” at Roland. I would take those words back in a heartbeat and I’ll eat them and his hurt little face forever. I’ve apologized and tried to fix my life a bit better but those kind of words are sticking kinds of words. Back to my continual reread of Buddhism for the Mothers of Young Children and How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk and practicing my emotional regulation/ nonviolent communication
11) What are a few things you’d like to accomplish before the end of the year? -making real cash dollars from my degree. -stable living situation, potentially with second bedroom. -make better routines that can turn into family traditions. (advent calendar, something with pumpkins, something about thanksgiving. )
I have no questions of my own to add because these were great and thought provoking. I’d like to see your answers to them!
