A Fire Emblem Awakening Worldbuilding Headcanon (that I use for my Awakening (Manakete OCs, (Meri and her associated kid unit) some of it is more rooted in canon and some is less so):
After the great decline of all of the manakete tribes (due to a number of factors, some of which were responsible for the creation and use of dragonstones), there are few manaketes left. Most remaining belonged to or are descended from the Divine Dragons (thanks to the efforts of Naga and her inner circle), but there are some remaining from other tribes as well. Fire Dragons are the most prevalent after Divine Dragons, followed by Earth Dragons (the latter of whom face particular hardships because their tribe because of association with Medeus and Grima). The least common are Ice Dragons, who were once thought to have been completely wiped out. However, it's been discovered some survived the great decline, although most if not all fled to various parts of Valm.
Fell Dragons are an offshoot of the Earth Dragons that formed after the decline, who wanted revenge on humanity and the Divine Dragons for their opposition to Medeus and the Earth Dragons. Of their number, only Grima currently remains and is actively pursuing the destruction of humanity (and in his case in particular, really everyone and everything in the world in general).
Manaketes often are found in small family units or are solitary, but there are a few small hidden hamlets and communities. However, the fear of slavers and unfriendly humans has most manaketes on the move, living a semi to fully nomadic lifestyle.
Manaketes being abducted and sold into slavery have been a problem in the last several centuries, particularly in more recent times. There is a demand behind closed doors, especially among the powerful and wealthy, even in kingdoms such as Ylisse that on their face have a respect or reverence for dragons, to possess them as prized objects for whatever purpose deemed fit (there is also demand among certain groups like the Grimleal for sacrificial purposes). This and fear from humans are of deep concern to manaketes (for some obvious reasons, but also a very back and forth history with humans).
Manaketes can sense the magic of others of their kind, including sensing traces left on places, objects, or other beings. Feeling the traces of their fellows left behind can be akin to discovering an old artifact of historical importance.
There is a common language, Draconic, which has various dialects depending on the tribe of manakete.
Manaketes rarely have children due to a difficulty with conception that arose during the decline, but some anecdotal evidence suggest interbreeding with humans is easier than attempting to have children with each other. But this is not a common occurrence due to weariness towards humans.
HI ABOUT UR ASK GAME I think u know about fire emblem but honestly not sure who’d you be an expert on 😭😭😭😭 SORRY IF THIS COMES OFF AS RUDE I would like to hear about ur expertise 🧐
AHUAAAGAGGAHAHGGGAAAAAA
THAT'S NOT AT ALL RUDE- LITERALLY ANY RESPONSE TO ASK GAME STUFF MAKES ME SO GIDDY THANK YOU
Okay- expertise time- I got into FE right before quarantine started so I was literally given all the time in the world in my early highschool era so I absorbed Fire Emblem up into my bloodstream and I blame that series for how I write and do world-building now. My homebrew D&D campaign (which will probably never see the light of day 😔) and my Transformers fan continuity were both heavily inspired by Fire Emblem, especially FE16 since it was my first game in the series.

Attention fans of Fire Emblem, dragons, and plushies... The Mini-ketes Kickstarter now has a total of NINE dragon plush to take home!
There’s about 10 days left in the campaign, so hopefully we can hit the stretch goal to unlock Nowi and have a total of 10! Pledges on that tier will get you a bulk discount, meaning that the difference between 9 plush and 10 is only $10 CAD as opposed to $20!
Check us out at kickstarter.com/projects/redpawdesigns/mini-ketes/
I am so glad that this blessed bard is finally in Heroes
and I need all the luck I can get x’D
