it's a love story for the new age as the bianchis and the turans proudly announce the engagement of their children: sophia bianchi, 30, and jeremy turan, 31. it's no surprise to any, as the two had been seen all of each other through the hols and into the spring, but what does come as a surprise is the venue. while the bianchi summer home could hold it's own, as could the turan, neither were to be found on the dusty blue stationary. instead guest were met with two little words: PARADISE HOUSE.
known first, and foremost, as the beach house of new york city's top investment firm, PARADISE HOUSE stands incomparable as the topmost summer home in the hamptons. the envy of all, with offers to buy coming in each years going unanswered, it has the ton anxiously flocking across it's borders whenever granted permission.
sophia had been to the home just once since she'd begun summering in the hamptons - but once had been enough for her to fall in love with the sprawling estate. and just how could the groom say no when his would-be-bride batted her eyes so prettily, begging to host their engagement within its grounds? so after a series of calls it's agreed, and the investor's patriarch agrees to let the bianchi-turan party be at his summer home. but is it out of long absent affection for his wife's nephew, or some ulterior motive?
the day of the party, the champagne's flowing, the stuffed mushrooms, caprese skewers, and smoked salmon bites circulating the room and the caviar imported, but just who is footing the bill ? the name scribbled in black ink on contracts, credit card slips and wire transfers reads the name of the bride's grandfather, "ROBERTO BIANCHI." but even a cool quarter mil for such an elaborate party seems a touch too much. could the groom's family be skimming some off the top ? if they are, they're keeping their lips sealed tight. and if their dresses are repeated from seasons prior, artfully titled 'vintage' as they attempt to conceal the truth in the matter, who's to say otherwise ? it's not the polite society way, one would do best not to offend their host.
