Second Still once again bring it, while ramping up towards their debut LP, with the fantastic new single “Strangers.”
If the treated guitar lines that open up the track don't immediately pull you in, then you’re a lost cause, but you’ll get a second chance to buy in once vocalist Suki San’s echoed pipes surface (and if you’re still not convinced….well I simply feel sorry for you as a human being). “Strangers” is a beautiful piece of icy post-punk, the kind that lives within a fog of plausible reverb while snapping to attention with a perfect pinch of feminine menace.
San throws down the gauntlet, explaining the track’s origins: “Lyrically, Strangers was written for the woman that overlooks indecency in her partner for the pleasure of being pained. The line between love and masochism is liberating once it is fully realized. Flesh becomes interchangeable and relationships become stories you leave behind and remember from time to time.”
