This is gonna sound a bit silly, but what is The Venture Bros? Is it funny, serious, witty? What is the storyline like? I have seen you reblog a lot of things, and I'm thinking about investing in it. Could you give me a hand?
Sure thing, it’s a bit complicated but I’ll try. First thing you wanna know is about this dude here, his name is Dr. Thaddeus (Rusty) S. Venture.
When the show begins he is shown to be a pill addicted (methamphetamines) callous, money hungry guy who cares little for his two twin sons. It’s revealed that he is famous and quite well known, his father was even more so. There was even a cartoon put out about him and his father’s adventures. His father has since passed on and well, they didn’t have the best relationship.
His two twin boys (Hank & Dean Venture) are quite dumb but really it’s just that they are inexperienced and naive.
They’ve traveled all over the world with their father but have been sheltered quite a bit and protected by their bodyguard Brock Samson.
He protects the family and keeps them out of danger while also functioning as a sort of nanny/co-father to them. He’s had military and special ops training and has a lot of government clearance. They have a lot of enemies as a family either due to their money or just the fact that Rusty was once famous and really it’s all an illusion as he ran out of money quite a long time ago when his father died.
Time goes on in the show and eventually Brock leaves the family due to circumstances. You find out the boys are actually clones of their original selves, having died several times before. This maybe why Rusty doesn’t seem to care about them. Eventually he gets over his pill addiction and starts to care more and this happens around the time Brock leaves and probably has a lot to do with it.
Also, you probably wanna know about this guy here.
His name is the Monarch and he is downright obsessed with Doc (Rusty) for some reason. He seems to really hate him and is constantly trying to bring harm to him (although he never does and really I think he is more in love with him than anything and would never actually harm him but I digress).
So that’s it. That’s The Venture Brothers. Actually there are like 50 more characters I could bring up but I’m feeling too lazy to type about them so you should probably just watch the show. LOL! It’s funny, serious, witty, all of the above. Really, the show started out lighthearted and has turned a lot more serious and dramatic nowadays. It’s just a really great show. Has positive things to say about women (and men too!) and the lgbtq community as well and yes a lot of positive messages about transgender people, people of color and well, just positive messages all around about all people. Also, it’s hilarious, did I say that?
The characters all grow and change drastically throughout the show, especially the boys. You should watch it, that’s all I’m gonna say. And, the show is created by these two guys who are like in love with each other and they are both so funny and talented and amazing so yeah.
