R.I.P Many Clouds 

Today was a tragic day for racing. Many Clouds the winner of the Hennessy Gold Cup in 2014 and the Grand National in 2015 died today.

He won the Cotswold Chase after a tremendous battle with the up and coming Thistlecrack but tragically he collapsed right after the line. The veterinary staff were on hand immediately but unfortunately they couldn’t save him. 

The 10 year old gelding by Cloudings (IRE) out of Bobbing Back (IRE)  was bred by Aidan Aherne and owned by Trevor Hemmings. He was trained by Oliver Sherwood in Lambourn since the start of his racing career. 

Condolences to his connections, particularly to the whole team at Oliver Sherwood’s yard where he was such a special horse for the whole team.

R.I.P Many Clouds, you were truly special.

Many Clouds collapses and dies after beating Thistlecrack at Cheltenham

Many Clouds, the winner of the Grand National in 2015, collapsed and died after lowering the colours of Thistlecrack and winning the Cotswold Chase at Cheltenham
