New Year fireworks and tea aroma spark a tender love story.
Fuochi d'artificio e aroma di tè accendono una tenera storia d'amore.
煙火與茶香交織出溫柔愛情故事。

My first time in Taiwan -- before I moved there -- included a bit of exploring, which usually resulted in getting lost for a few hours in an effort to avoid crowds. One of my last excursions before heading to Korea was to Maokong, a destination in the mountains of Taipei full of tea fields and touristy shops. I followed trails in the heat to find Yinhe Temple, which is a cool little temple set in the mountainside with a little waterfall. The water and tree cover made this spot a bit cooler than the surrounding fields. 貓空,台北,台灣。 。。。
在這裡你可以休息一會兒。很好的地方.
It wasn’t until I did it that I realized quite how incredible this particular cable car journey would be – a long and leisurely half an hour in duration each way and taking us up, over and back down across several forest-clad hills on the way, often at great heights above the ground. During that time, I enjoyed incredible views back across Taipei City, and down onto the trees, tea plantations and rural landscapes below.
Maokong – a small village nestled in the mountains to the South of Taipei and known for its tea production. As a huge fan of Taiwanese mountain oolong teas, especially tie guan yin, for which Maokong is known, it was high on my list for my four night stay in Taipei. Tea aficionados will enjoy this place for its wide variety of teahouses and high quality selection, while others looking for a relaxing break from the busy city can sit back with a cup of tea and nice dinner, all while taking in the beautiful views of Taipei. Those wishing for more of a meditative experience should try and plan your visit for the weekdays as we were told the weekend crowds could sometimes be overwhelming, especially at the better tea houses and restaurants. There are also many operators in Taipei which offer daylong tours of Maokong and the surrounding area.
There are also a couple of stores and a small Food center along the road here selling street foods. This includes the popular Maokong macha cat biscuit ice-cream, which I only discovered only after reaching the top. It is claimed that the ice cream are made from the teas grown up up here on Maokong. After the ice cream, I had my lunch at Maolan Tea House. Prices are quite high, but that’s probably because the food are for sharing. But what made the the experience one of a kind is the view of Taipei from my table. Best lunch ever!

Temples part 3
The third of the three temples was by far the quest. We were three of maybe 8 people there as the sun set. Facing west, I couldn't help but feel we'd found this last temple at the perfect time. I was able to catch the sunset on video but I need to edit that before I can upload it.
