The Reds and Chinese Communists did not win solely or even primarily because of their "scientific framework of political analysis, by correct theory proven true by practice".

They were helped because of the numerous failures of the Whites and Chinese Nationalists.

The Whites were quite able to tell people what they were against, but not much about what they were for. The two issues that they seemed committed to (keeping the Russian Empire intact and preventing peasant seizure of the land) cost them a lot of support. A further problem is that they did not have control of Russia's largest cities or its rail system, which proved to be extremely important.

The Chinese nationalists took a heavy beating at the hands of the Japanese, majorly reducing their numbers, and also had extremely serious problems with corruption, mismanagement, and mistreating the Chinese peasantry. This cost them the support of most of the Chinese people, particularly the peasantry, who were important, since they made up around 80-90% of the population.

Oh, chexcastro…. Nobody thinks you and the other Marxist-Leninist and Maoist bloggers are fans of any type of punk rock. Your nonpolitical posts are all about very modern video games and anime and shit, so why would everyone believe even for a second you'd deign to listen to rock music that was first made by members of your parents's or grandparents's generation?

So why do assholes like myself use the phrase "tankie punks fuck off" .... Well, here are the two reasons why I like to use the phrase (can't speak for anyone else)...

One, punk can be another word for a bratty child, which is definitely what chexcastro and the LARPing Maoists and Marxist-Leninists on this site all act like.

Two, it's to mock how they talk big and stan mass murderers and claim to want to help change the world, but seem incredibly uninterested in any type of volunteer work or any type of political engagement other than blogging and sometimes attending protests.

Theses line of "Nazi Punks Fuck Off" are particularly relevant to how I, personally, feel:

"You fight each other, the police state wins Stab your backs when you trash our halls Trash a bank if you've got real balls … You'll be the first to go, you'll be the first to go You'll be the first to go unless you think!"

I especially like those last two lines, as I firmly believe that that chexcastro and her ilk wouldn't survive more than a month in an actual Marxist-Leninist regime. Mind you, I wouldn't either, but at least I know that and don't fantasize that I'd be given any kind of top position if I'd lived in Russia in 1917 or China in 1949.

Anyway! Let's move on to a response post from maowives.

It's kind of endearing, though, that she thinks she's dropping some deep truths here by saying that punk rock is music genre and not a revolution. I mean, obviously. The punks who didn't die of heroin overdoses or whatever are now in their sixties or seventies. This ain't a new take.

It's kind of a shame, tho, that none of the tankies seem to like punk rock. I think they might love The Clash's I'm So Bored With the U.S.A. if they actually listened to it:

Maybe she's still bitter over a time as a teenager when she reposted someone's fanfic and got called for it.

$240k for 4 year in-state tuition (apparently not including room and board) and there were loads of kids rich enough to have Teslas?

Where tf did you go to university? It has to be some kind of private university, right?

How did you get in? Are you a super genius whiz kid? Someone with rich parents yourself who could pull strings? What?

How were you paying for it, anyway? Student loans? Rich parents? Scholarship? What?

Or maybe I'm just bitter because I went to community college and then to a cheap and local public university while living at home. This is definitely a possibility.

Truth be told, though, unless you're hoping to be a politician or CEO, it doesn't really matter all that much where you go to college and you don't necessarily need to go at all. Just stay away from the for-profit schools. Those places are run by manipulative scammers and prey off the poor, single mothers, and minorities.
