God damn it there aren't any airports at Helgen.
if irl mapcrunch challenges were a thing...
they would have to be arranged by an organization with tons of money, lots of international connections, and fast transport.
players would be given food and water for a couple of days, as well as clothing appropriate to the region and season, and a debit card containing part of the entry fee for the adventure. this money could be used however, but obviously the recommended expenditures are on getting the fuck home.
personal safety would also be a concern, but you can't just go giving folks guns and dropping them over national lines. i haven't figured this bit out yet.
then there would be the Device. the device would be a limited use computer containing a compass (an analog one, i don't trust gps ones), a gps configured to show you the names of streets and nothing else, and a basic encyclopedia/phrasebook. the encyclopedia would contain the flags of all the nations, so you could compare if you saw a flag. the phrasebook would have a bunch of languages in it with simple stuff like "where is the airport?" and "do you have a bathroom i can use?
the Device would most likely be secured to the player's wrist so that it couldn't be lost.
i would totally be up for this, btw. especially with friends. what better way to meet your tumblbuddies but for on a random, empty stretch of road in south africa?
