it’s not an instantaneous thing but only barely lol.
and the reason its not instantaneous is because of Patton - he appreciates the apology, even believes Emile really does feel bad but he is very much waiting for the other shoe to drop through pretty much the first… oh i’d say few months, of their friendship
Emile, on the other hand, Is Going To Friend You So Hard and so Patton frequently comes back to his parents house from fairyland to find that Emile has dropped off a whole bag of dresses and a little note that says “Let me know when you’re back in town so we can try clothes on together! :D”

Honestly, the whole unsympathetic Patton thing makes me want to cry sometimes. Because he is trying. Trying so hard to do the right thing. And Patton is one of the only sides that will admit when he makes a mistake. And just... It makes me so sad and I just want all of my boys (even trash boi and snake boi) to be happy because they're all so important in the grand scheme of things. Anyways, wonderful writing as always. like i said, i’ve liked a lot of characters people have ‘canceled’ before and i’m usually pretty good at being like “who gives a single shit” and moving on
but idk there is just something about unsymp*thetic patton content that gets to me, i have no idea why. Maybe its because he’s so obviously trying, like you said, or because he is by far the most likely side to apologize for a given mistake but just
i dunno. i see it and it hurts me. i block the tags but you know, not perfect, and i dont expect anybody to be perfect, so it does still show up on occasion and i just wanna give him a hug and tell him i love him, but i cant so i made logan do it
