You had just seen a video on making maple taffy after going on a loophole on YouTube. Since you had pretty much nothing to do, you decided to give it a try.
Your sister quickly made her way to the kitchen to you, thinking something was wrong.
“I need adult supervision.”
Kara, who was sitting on the couch, gave an offended look and let out a scoff. Alex chuckled and stuck her tongue out at her, resulting in some sisterly bickering.
You rolled your eyes and decided to video call Lena on your tablet instead considering the apartment only housed children.
The CEO picked up after about five seconds and she immediately heard the playful arguing in the background.
“The kids fighting again?”
You nodded your head while grabbing the things you needed; maple syrup, a pot, thermometer, and a baking tray.
“So, I saw this video about this snack called maple taffy and-”
You sheepishly nodded your head and looked back to where your sisters were still ‘fighting’.
“Yeah. I was trying to get Alex for adult supervision and then they started arguing. So can you supervise me?”
Lena chuckled and nodded her head. You grabbed your coat and some gloves, then the baking tray and went outside. You quickly packed some snow onto it, trying to hurry and get back inside since it was so cold.
After getting back inside, you saw that Alex and Kara were no longer bickering, but watching a movie on the couch. Rolling your eyes, you just started to heat up the maple syrup and let it get to the temperature you needed it to be. Once it reached that temperature, you took it off the heat and went to grab your pan of snow.
Going outside twice had obviously gotten your sisters’ attention. They made their way to the kitchen where they saw Lena on the video call. The three started chatting but directed their attention towards you once you started pouring the syrup, making sure you didn’t burn yourself.
After pouring three stripes, you quickly grabbed the popsicle sticks and rolled them up before they got too hard.
You handed the other two to Alex and Kara, and Lena watched your reactions as you tried.
Your eyes widened and at that moment, looking at Kara, you knew the two of you were going to have a sugar crash tonight.
