AND FOR THE URCHIN KIDS… who arent really urchins sorries. instead i feel like the tbd has had an incident where instead of just interning grown adults they decided to invest for the far future and get a bunch of KIDS who would get TWICE the amount of training with HALF the resources because theyre so small <- (false. children need as much if not more but apparently they didnt figure that out because theyre all disconnected from their childhoods (its been long)) so instead they got a bunch of homeless kids/runaways/kids who were just in abusive homes and took them in because they “didnt have anyone who would miss them” .
it should be noted that they were treated like SHIT ! free unpaid labour plus having them die over and over again (they were prone to dying whilst dealing with timelines, which can actually be rectified so long as the body matter is still in tact) (this doesnt go for dealing with temporal energy that shit will ERASE you) (end workers). sometimes if their mentors thought them to be too bothersome they would quite literally just not bring them back OR bring them back as food instead for a starving cafeteria. thats how little they were recognised as people truly and this went on as long as possible until the majority of them became adults (all while they were hiring adult interns while all of this was happening by the way) . they still live at the tbd like actually.
dark fondue (yes thats fondue) is strict, passive aggressive and bittersweet due to this because its what she believes is the only logical outcome after experiencing all of That. ESPECIALLY All Of That with her mentor (former mentor anyway) (a little shy putting this out there but hey this au isn’t EXTREMELY extremely popular anyways so.) (she watches him with his gruff demeanour as he mentions kindly to the struggling intern that they should take a break for a bit. she wonders how far shes fallen and what shes done to deserve being so Evil according to her circumstances. why didnt she get all of this?) . shes coping fine and truly she wishes deep inside that it was different but thats not professional and anyways she has a job to get to. shes not going to manage to process this for a long time. she came from a father who was hostile and volatile and she was in the middle of escape when she was suddenly grabbed (and threw quite the fuss as well ! you can see a scar on a certain someone from that though he might call it off as a ‘work accident.’)
marble bread grows disillusioned and aimless, with the majority of their ambitions being completely wiped out from sheer depression. they’ve been berated and treated like nothing but scum and its hard to actually be motivated to be anything beyond that. they’ve grown especially miserable when dark fondue after her “internship” starts to distance herself further and further from marble bread in the first place, she sees them as a threat to her entire sense of being (she HAD to suffer to be Great, so clearly the suffering was Necessary. now why arent they Great like her? maybe theyre just being lazy and making her look bad on purpose… surely…)
