This delicious dish, Maple Bourbon Cedar Tofu, combines the richness of bourbon, the sweetness of maple syrup, and the smoky flavor of grilling on a cedar plank. It's a great choice for a flavorful main course or vegetarian barbecue.
Ingredients: 1 block extra firm tofu. 2 tablespoons maple syrup. 2 tablespoons bourbon. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. 1 tablespoon olive oil. 1 cedar plank, soaked in water for 1 hour.
Instructions: Grill at a medium-high temperature. Cut tofu into slabs that are 1/2 inch thick, then press them between paper towels to absorb any extra moisture. Whisk together the soy sauce, bourbon, maple syrup, and olive oil in a small bowl. Apply marinade to tofu slices on both sides. After the cedar plank has been soaked, place the tofu slices on top of the grill. Tofu should be heated through and lightly charred after grilling for 5 to 7 minutes on each side. If desired, top with chopped green onions or sesame seeds and serve hot.
