These Soft Maple Sugar Cookies are a delightful treat with a wonderful blend of maple flavor. They are soft, chewy, and perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 cup maple syrup. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 3 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 cup granulated sugar for rolling.
Instructions: When the butter is soft, add 1 cup of granulated sugar and cream them together in a large bowl until they are light and fluffy. Put the egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup in the bowl. Mix everything together well. Mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a different bowl. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones one at a time, mixing only until the dough comes together. Put the dough in the fridge for at least an hour with the lid on. Warm your oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet. Roll each ball of dough in the last 1/4 cup of granulated sugar. The balls should be about 1 inch large. Spread out the dough balls on the baking sheet that has been prepared, leaving space between each one. Use a fork to gently press down on each cookie to make a criss-cross pattern. For 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden, bake the cookies. After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet. Then, move them to a wire rack to cool all the way down. With milk or your favorite hot drink, these Soft Maple Sugar Cookies are a great treat.
