Whiplash is an oddball, kind of an outsider, and usually a loner. He was bullied his entire childhood by Titan, who lashed out at him with his tail and gave him a scar on his left cheek for the rest of his life. For his entire life, Whiplash had no idea who his mother was, only that she was really big, but also very kind and loved his father Diplo dearly enough to go behind her herd’s back and be the loving wife that Diplo knew and loved.
Because of said past being hidden by his father, Whiplash knew nothing and continued to be harassed by the other kids in the herd.
All except for three: Locus (whom Whiplash forms a blood oath to), Carnega (a female Diplodocus who is rarely seen without Locus), and Skyback.
Skyback (named for the bright blue stripe on her back) is the only one who doesn’t have a single bad bone in her body. She is very kind and very gentle, being the first one to welcome Whiplash into their herd with open arms, and being the first to congratulate him on his Great Growing. From day one, she believed that there was something special about Whiplash, that he was destined for great things one day. Not once did she ever doubt him, knowing that her heart belonged to him forever and always.
Unfortunately, this created an even bigger rift with Titan and Whiplash, further influencing Titan’s jealousy and causing him to take drastic actions that ensured Whiplash’s exile of the herd. Titan vowed that he wouldn’t just be leading their herd as the next Patriarch of his grandmother’s herd (the lone Matriarch of the herd) but to take Skyback by force if necessary. He’d known Skyback since hatchling days, but often expresses his love for her by being physically violent to anyone except her and showing off just to impress her.
After Whiplash’s exile, Skyback remains loyal to him to this very day, still believing that he would return one day. But as long as Whiplash’s father, Diplo, is the new leader of the herd, she is under his protection, ensuring that Titan doesn’t lay a single claw on her for as long as he is in power.
But how long can said leader remain in power?
As long as Whiplash is still breathing, Skyback hopes her reunion with her beloved will be what she has dreamed of.
