"In the Green and Golden Ages, Maran was born as deity of the Earth alongside her sister Ernalda. Where her sister was thoughtful and nurturing, she was wild and passionate, shaping the earth with her dances. She renamed herself Maran Gor following the arrival of Death into the world and remade herself into a powerful and destructive deity, turning her earth-shaking power to the defense of her pantheon. In the present day, she is the goddess of the Earth's primal destructive power in contrast to Ernalda's embodiment of its generative power. She is honored through blood sacrifice and, unlike the other Earth goddesses, happily accepts the sacrifice of sapient beings."
