🐱 Cat Hat 🐱

Things have really not been going so great the last three months, so I went with something fun and comfortable to try and get back into things. The Cat Hat is inspired my that of the Minoan Snake Goddess.

At the Lancaster Troll Market, Lancaster, PA. I stumbled across this shop in an historic building near Historicon a couple weeks ago. It's one-stop shopping for incense, jewelry, art, swords, armor, renfaire & SCA garb, vintage comics, toys, and games, and other random miscellanea tucked into all the corners of the place. Plus there are 2 rooms set aside for game tables.

There's a full cabinet of 1980s AD&D action figures. Around the corner you'll find the deepest nook with old miniatures. I picked up several packs of late 70s/early 80s Ral Partha and Citadel medievals to expand my retro collection. RP's Chaos Lord on Warbeast is complete, and the loose RP/AD&D halfling fighter-thief should make a good leader for a unit of halfling slingers.

Another room had this early edition Runequest on display near some old issues of Dragon and Dungeon magazines.

Runequest is really cool because you can be flipping through a 20 year old fanzine and find incredible things, like this:

here he is pouring blood on the stone as an ironic gesture, because the stone depicts the battle of Arkat and Nysalor (and Arkat is winning), and here, Ralzakark is the reincarnation of Nysalor! So he is kinda mocking Arkat by making a gift of blood to the idol of his nemesis
