@krang-hound-kennels, it's been a while since I updated you on my growing pack, hasn't it? I separated Spute and Maranta from Laika for a while after their first meeting to help them get used to each other, and they didn't have any problems, so I let them back out with Laika. Unfortunately, this didn't go nearly as well as it did with the other two.

Laika immediately didn't like Maranta for a reason I couldn't figure out, since the poor guy was so polite to her. Spute didn't like that Laika was being aggressive to her packmate and came over to defend him, which Laika didn't appreciate too much.

The two had some kind of glaring contest for a while, which I can only guess was some kind of battle of wills? While that was happening, I was thankfully able to get poor Maranta away from the girls. Lucky I did too, since the glaring match didn't last long until the two descended into an all-out brawl that was maybe some kind of dominance battle? Most likely, a way for them to figure out which one would be the boss. That didn't last long either before the winner was decided.

Spute looked to submit to Laika after a bit of fighting, but neither one came out without any injuries. Hopefully, they won't scar. Good thing, though: after the fight Laika just kind of ignored Maranta and even let him come over to help clean her wounds before I could get there to patch her up. So..... Maranta is an official pack member? Maybe?

Needless to say, I am going to wait a while until I introduce Kestrel into the group, and I will do so a lot differently than I did this time. I will be keeping a careful eye on both girls to make sure they don't get into another fight, but I'm pretty sure they got it out of their systems. Hopefully.

Today is plant care day, checking leaves, watering, trimming etc. I always thought my D&D class would be a Druid but only the kind that deals with plants, animals are a lot of more immediate work. 😆 it’s really relaxing to be able to buckle down and spend a few hours gardening.

One of my fussier plants is enjoying the humidifier I got and is flowering!
