Then, the weather turned and no boats were crossing the Gibraltar Strait ... marooned in Marocco.....in the right place at the right time .....we found Mecca, well our Mecca, an Aladdins cave of marble and marble cutters where we spent the day through our hilarious combined broken English, Spanish and French we expressed our desires for material for our upcoming contemporary art project. I was once again humbled by the way this whole workshop began to work to give us what we wanted. Three stone cutters and the boss, two gorgeous great English speaking workshop executives who look like super models and the secretary and finally the bosses wife. After negotiations next door at the excellent petrol station restaurant our "officina" where we also got the car cleaned and detailed for a few euros.... we had made our order and sealed the deal. Everyone's fingers have been counted and we will expect to see the correct number of digits at the end. Done and marble dusted everywhere! #morocco #moroccanartisans #moroccanmarble #aladdinscave #marblecave #marblecutters #gems #magiccave #contemporaryart #source #materials #marble #beginnings #letthefunbegin (at Tangier-Tetouan)
