Yo! Another fic from ya good ol’ robotic voice from the void!
I know I’m like,,, a million years late, but here’s a Changeling fanfic, from the Visual Novel game made by @steamberrystudio!
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Changeling (Visual Novel)
Rating: Teen
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Relationships: Elliot Damiani/Nora Lewis
Characters: Elliot Damiani, Nora Lewis, Marc Loewe, Ally Fisher, Daniel “Danny” Tasina, Vilos Ioveanu
Additional Tags: Fluff, Romance, Mid-Game, the missing scene, Dancing, real lyrics, sfw
Summary:
“I’ll take her. We can go through my room ...”
Elliot leads Nora to the safety of the club room, through his bedroom. But what really happened between getting to his house, and getting to the club room?
Written from a mid-game perspective, bending the canonical events just a teensy bit. Unlike the majority of my fics, this is pretty much SFW, consisting of enough fluff to suffocate in.
I may write another, post-game chapter, but that is TBD
Please note that this only works on Elliot's route (clearly) and if you took the all-romance choices (You can find the guide on the Changeling Steam page if you haven't already)
Another one-shot for @steamberrystudio‘s Changeling game, this time for some Marc Loewe/Nora Lewis.
Small warning for a somewhat heated scene at the end but there’s nothing too much in here. Available on Ao3.
He was all about control.
She had every intention of making him lose it.
Honestly though, if you asked her, he should have expected it. Of course it would end up getting on her nerves, that he was always so stupidly calm and collected and looking so smug that she wanted to punch that look off of her face…
Ahem. Violence, bad. She needed to remember that.
That was exactly why Nora had been plotting a way to make Marc lose his eternal mask of control for the last few days.
It wasn’t exactly easy, considering the fact that he could, you know, read her mind. Even though he’d told her she was projecting less since she had gotten her body back, he still had no problem doing it, especially if he was touching her.
And, well, he was touching her a lot.
Not that she minded. Part of her may have been embarrassed, especially in the beginning, but she had gotten used to it fairly quickly. She was sure, actually, that he enjoyed watching her blush, and she was willing to bet he was disappointed that it wasn’t as easy as it had been.
Jerk.
She had had to discreetly ask William for help with her idea. She hadn’t developed it too much, but he had easily agreed to help her controlling her thoughts. She had noticed the small smile on her lips though, and she guessed that he somewhat knew what she was up to. Oh well — if there was one person who wouldn’t betray her on that, it had to be William.
It had been harder to master than she had expected it to be. Not that the task in itself was hard, but for her idea she had to make it natural, and for that she had to train, but she had no way of knowing if she was doing it correctly unless someone was here to tell her, and… Yeah, it was basically complicated.
It took a bit more than a week before she felt satisfied enough with her level of control, a week full of fear of being discovered. Not fear exactly, because it wasn’t like Marc would do anything, but… But she just wanted to see what he looked like when he did lose control.
Technically, she had seen him lose it out of anger, but that wasn’t exactly what she had in mind. She just wanted not to be the only one to get terribly flustered all the time. To be fair, it would probably only work once. Once was better than never though.
She set her plan in motion in Literature. It was the only class they had together, and she didn’t expect him, nor want him, to do anything during it, but she doubted she would get on his nerves enough for him to react. Ideally, he would only act on it at the end of the day, although she would be extremely satisfied with herself if he did anything by noon.
It took him a little while to notice something unusual — or maybe he had noticed and he had brushed it off.
She was simply reading her lines when he noticed that he started to stare. Holding back her grin was hard, but it was going to be so worth it.
Also, she had gotten so much practice at keeping secrets recently that maybe she was good at this now.
Marc didn't say anything; he just stared a little too long. It wasn’t enough to make him miss his line, wasn’t enough to bring a change to his expression. In fact, most people wouldn’t have notice. Nora wasn’t most people, though, and she did notice.
Just like she noticed, progressively, as the hour went by, his hand moving on the desk, towards hers. Again, she made no comment, focusing on the book.
When Marc’s fingers brushed against her skin, she had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep herself from smiling. She looked up at him, hoping she looked innocent. She doubted she did, because Spencer had clearly implied, several times, that she was about the least innocent-looking person he knew, but she was trying, okay?
“Are you okay?”
Marc frowned, just a little, then pulled his hand back reluctantly.
“Fine.”
His tone was just a little sharper than it usually was.
Nora called that a victory.
He didn’t really try anything at noon. As usual, they met each other in the courtyard to eat together. Marc was more silent than usual, doing mostly staring. Nora was humming to herself, which she guessed was a little suspicious, but she couldn’t help it. If she stayed silent, she was sure it would be a dead give away.
Marc answered to her with only monosyllabic responses, until, finally, he gave in at the very end of their meal.
“What are you doing?”
Nora blinked innocently a couple of time.
“What are you talking about?”
Now, about anyone would have realized that there was nothing innocent about her attitude, and that she was doing her best to keep a straight face. But the thing was, Marc wasn’t that good at reading people when he didn’t have his abilities. He was used to relying on it. So he stared at her face for a long time, trying to come to a conclusion and realizing exactly that fact, before he sighed and shook his head.
“Nothing. Are you done eating?”
She nodded, ignoring the feeling of triumph that filled her.
It wouldn’t be long now.
To Marc’s credit, he did manage to hold back during the entire ride home, to the point Nora felt her amusement falter, disappointed at the thought that there wouldn’t be more. Once he had pulled over in her driveway, he leaned towards her, and she smiled as she did the same. She enjoyed how casual some parts of their relation was, while appreciating and knowing how every kiss meant something equally important to him.
This time, though, there was something more intense, more urgent in the way he pressed his mouth against hers.
Oh?
One of his hands travelled on her arm, his long fingers sending shivers through her entire body, and she let out a discreet sigh, almost a moan, as the other cupped her cheek, pulling her closer despite the gear shift between them. There was an obvious need to be closer to her, probably to fill the distance that he’d felt throughout the day, unable to feel her like he usually did.
That thought actually made her frown a bit. She’d meant to tease him, not to make him insecure about them, about her…
Her brief hesitation was enough to crack the walls of her mind, letting that last thought slip out.
Marc pulled away, his face still close to hers, close enough to feel his warmth breath and to notice that he was also panting, visibly just affected as her by the situation, and the walls shattered completely.
Nora stared into his eyes, hesitant, unsure of what his reaction would be. She felt like apologizing, though she knew he could tell everything that was going on through her mind. Finally, he sighed, closing his eyes and still not letting go of her, instead pressing his forehead against hers.
“Idiot.”
She would have protested, but already his mouth was back on her for a hungry but brief kiss.
“If you wanted something…” Another kiss. “…you could just ask.”
His mouth travelled to her neck, leaving biting kisses there, tasting her skin, enjoying the warmth of her body and the way she arched against him, just a little, unconsciously giving him a better access.
“Well where would the fun be in that?” she still managed to mumble.
If Marc had been completely honest, he would have admitted that he was very riled up at the moment, and that he needed her close to him, now. But he was not going to let her have the satisfaction of knowing that, especially now that he knew that it was actually what she was looking for.
His hand went to her hip and he started pulling, softly, inviting her closer to him. Soon, Nora was kneeling on her seat, progressively leaning more towards him.
As tempting as it was to just keep this going…
Nora pulled away.
“…My dad is not finding us making out in here.”
Marc grunted noncommittally, which was very unusual from him, but probably better than to be a jerk because he would, actually, not really care.
Nora smiled and very softly traced his jaw with her, moving tenderly to his lips. For a moment, he found it hard to breathe as he stared in her eyes.
It killed him, how she managed to undo him with a smile, a touch, a look. And she thought she needed to tease him to make him lose control? He felt like he was always on edge with her. If she kept doing stuff like that…
She kissed him briefly, then stepped out of the car.
“I’ll see you tomorrow!”
There was a very obvious blush on her cheeks, and he thought it was almost a miracle that they had managed to make it there without neither of them saying something that managed to piss off the other.
“Again, just ask, next time,” he said sternly, trying to glare at her.
Nora grinned. “You’re saying that because it worked.”
The operation was a total success.
Marc scowled at her thought, while she chuckled, waving at him while walking towards the door.
She was already plotting her next plan when she closed it behind her.
Characters: CorvinxNora; brief appearances/mentions of Spencer, Danny, William, Marc, Ally and Ewan
Word Count: 1179
Summary: Sometimes, Corvin does things that makes Nora exasperated. But at least they love each other, right?
Author’s Note: My brother was the inspiration for the things Corvin did in this fic. I’m not proud of this piece at all, but the premise is too good not to write. Is this crack fanfic? Because it feels like it.
This was Nora’s fifth time watching the Snapchat that Corvin had sent her and she still was at a loss for words. The little video looped again, and she spent yet another five seconds staring at the shiny toaster and the scoop plate with a crow design on the Beltrans’ kitchen counter. She listened to the faint ticking noise and then the loud ding as the toaster spat out a piece of bread onto the plate.
This time, she noticed how the one of the corners of the toast hit the raised rim of the plate and then cartwheeled clumsily out of the plate completely. The camera quickly panned down to the floor, catching the trajectory of the toast as it landed squarely onto another identical crow design plate. Corvin’s hand entered the frame – Nora recognized it as his because of the blue scarf that dipped a little into view – and he grabbed the toast off the plate before angling the camera at his cheeky face as he winked and took a huge bite out of the toast.
And not a bite at the corner like a normal person. No, he took a chunk out of the side and sent crumbs everywhere.
She stared at the video some more before she tapped at the screen to clear away the video and then shoot him a quick reply: This is dumb. What was she supposed to even say? It was so random.
A few minutes later, he replied: Hehe! I got my first reply from you! It took about 20 minutes to set it up.
Nora facepalmed at her boyfriend’s antics and tried to suppress the smile threatening to take her face before pocketing the phone and heading downstairs to help with dinner duty.
That night, she received several text notifications from Corvin. The first text was a single line: A story in many parts. Below that message was a picture of a tray of cookies decorated to look like their friends and other members of the Paranormal Mysteries club. The next several pictures were those same cookies with huge bites taken out of the arms and legs. She noticed that not even Cookie Nora was spared from this fate.
The last attachment was a video where he staged little scenes of the ‘surviving’ cookie-versions of the club members mourning the ones that were ‘dead’. It was obvious Corvin found all of this very funny because underneath all the remarkably, uncanny voice acting – he was suppressing giggling fits based on how his shoulders were shaking.
There was only one appropriate response here.
She responded back: I’m going to throw you into a wall tomorrow.
Okay, he didn’t deserve to be thrown into a wall. Corvin just…needed to be…lightly smacked for being so silly…and morbid. Who would make cookies in the shape of friends and eat them?!
Seconds later, Nora had a reply from him: Ehhh?? But why?? ;A;
Well, he was just going to have to wait in suspense now, won’t he.
The next morning at school, Nora found out really fast that Corvin had sent the same messages to the other club members. Her first tip-off was when she caught sight of Spencer’s back just a few minutes before first period began. He was holding Corvin in a headlock. That was kind of impressive for Spencer considering his beanpole status. As she was about to make good on her own threat, he managed to squirm out of Spencer’s grasp and sped down the hall.
The rest of the day was chaotic. She would catch glimpses of the other club members cornering Corvin and thwacking him between classes, but he always got away before she could approach. Of course, there were also plenty of people, such as Danny and William, that were much too nice and polite to join in this weird, intense tag-combined-Whack-A-Mole. Some, such as Marc, were above such tomfoolery, ignored everyone and continued to sip at his fancy tea made of fancy water.
Ally was not above this game though, because she casted a reverse-movement hex on Corvin that lasted for thirty seconds. Apparently, left became right and forward became backward. In that span of time, he punched himself on accident. Nora was greatly disappointed that she was not around for this, but Ally promised her that the whole thing was very funny.
Once the last bell rang, the chase had died down significantly. No sign of Corvin though.
She rounded the corner just in time to see Ewan shoved her boyfriend into a locker and slam it shut. Ewan turned the other way, not noticing her at all, and stalked away. Nora approached the locker and noted that it wasn’t locked before opening the door.
“Nora!” he said excitedly. His arms twitched, and she stepped aside just in time as he fell out of the locker ungracefully. “Oofff!”
She rolled her eyes and offered him her hand. “What were you even thinking when you sent that message?”
When he took her hand, she was expecting him to let go once he was back on his feet. That was not what happened. Corvin tugged her and she collided into his chest, becoming hyper-aware that his other arm was wrapped around her waist. He always did this when he wanted a kiss.
“Well,” he began, pressing his forehead to hers, and Nora cursed her traitorous heart for pounding a little at the close-up view of his green eyes. “Everyone’s just been so tense lately from all the final exams. I thought I would cheer everyone up a little!”
She cleared her throat in an attempt to get a hold of herself, because dang it, that was super heartwarming. “And you didn’t think that…maybe not everyone would find mutilated cookie-versions of themselves funny?”
“I thought they would laugh a little at the very least!”
Okay, okay…the skit was kind of amusing. Not that she would admit that. But it was also super strange. And it was definitely stranger than giggle-inducing.
Corvin saw the skepticism on her face and laughed. “Ehehehe…I wasn’t expecting everyone to hit me, but at least they’re not tense anymore?”
“Yeah…” she said dryly and tried to extricate herself from his embrace. “But maybe you should rethink some of these ideas if you don’t want to get hit?”
“Nooooorrraaa!” Corvin angled her face toward his again. “It’s been four days since you kissed me. It’s awfully mean of you –”
She quickly pecked his lips before darting away, laughing loudly. It was done on the spur of the moment, but it was gratifying to take Corvin by surprise for once, judging by his widened eyes.
“Wah – that’s cheating!” He reached for her again, but she ducked under his arms. Embarrassingly, she almost ran into the lockers on the other side. Good grief, his klutziness better not be contagious.
“I don’t know about this…should I really kiss you after you do something dumb?” She smirked. “That would be a terrible influence on you.”
Without another word, Nora ran down the hall, laughing as he chased after her.
Another comm! this time of @steamberrystudio's Nora, Adrien and Marc from Changeling. It's been a WHILE since I've done Changeling fanart and this made me want to replay the game HAH
